Mission:
The Forests of Mythraeli
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: Before "Round 'em up and move 'em out"

After speaking with Lieutenant-Commander Tovan, Doctor Bowen walked to the morgue area touched a button to open it up so she can examine the bodies. A table automatically pulled out of the wall after the door opened. She looked at the male corpse.
She decided to call Jason to help her with an autopsy. Leanne figured that he has some experience.
It didn't take long for Doctor Hart to arrive.
"What's up, Doc?" He said with a little slurred speech.
She frowned at him, "I know you went to the party, but I didn't think you would drink too much. Maybe we should get somebody else to help me with the autopsy."
"No, no...I'm okay, CAP-ton," he smiled doing a salut. "I mean Lieutenant."
"Nurse!"
"Yes, doctor?"
Seeing Nurse Tarango, "Give me a hypospray of 4cc's of anti-synthol...it's for Doctor Hart."
He opened his mouth and crossed his arms. "I said, I'm f-"
"No shot, no autopsy...", she smirked as she interrupted him.
It didn't take long for Barbara to retrieve the hypospray. When she approached Doctor Hart, she grabbed his upper arm and injected the medication. She shook her head with a smile as she looked at Doctor Bowen as if she knew what she was thinking of his situation. "All done..."
"Thanks, Barbara," Leanne said.
Doctor Hart sighed and yawned.
"Now, get over here," she said to him. She picked up an instrument that is known as a laser used in surgery, to cut the tissues apart. "Let's get started...we don't have all day. I've given my word to Mister Toven that we will get this done in 48 hours, but we can do this in a couple of hours, that is, if we get started right away. We have two bodies to do. I will do this male and you do the other one that still in storage in that wall number 2."
Jason slipped a surgical gown over him and put on a pair of gloves. He went to the wall and touched a button to let the table with the corpse on it come out. He picked up a scapel and immediately went to work.
Doctor Bowen put her gloved hand into the man's chest cavity and pulled out a oval shaped device, that was smaller than her hand. "I found something..." She looked at the organs inside, seeing some black stuff attach to organs. "Nurse, get a biopsy of this black material." She carefully laid the device on the nearby table.
"I found a device too," Jason said, speaking clearly after receiving the medication for the synthol intoxication.
"Well, I think I have come to a conclusion of how they died. I need to get that biopsy to figure out what that black stuff is..."
"Maybe it is toxin," he said. "Looks to me like these devices are some kind of implant...I thought we had a woman with an implant in her head the other day. These devices are bigger and they look older."
"I think I've had enough of this...can't find anything else here. I'm going to close up."
They both sealed up the incision on both bodies and placed them back into the chamber wall. Their surgical garments were taken off and disposed along with their gloves. Leanne touched her combadge, "Doctor Bowen to Ensign Lovok." She hoped to find someone that could figure out these devices.
Down in engineering Marek had been talking with his new chief about many things when his he heard Doctor Bowen call him. The Romulan tapped his combadge. =^= Lovok here Doctor what can I do for you? =^=
"Could you come to sickbay? We just completed an autopsy and found a device implanted in these two bodies...need someone to look at this device to find out what it is."
Marek was instantly curious. =^= On my way Doctor, =^= and he quickly grabbed a took-kit, sort out permission to leave from the chief then was on his way to Sickbay.
After a time Marek entered Sickbay and approached the Chief Medical Officer with a smile that reminded one of a kid going into a candy shop. "Engineer Lovok at your service," he said.
She picked up the two identical devices and handed it him, "I need to know what this is. These two men from the planet died instantly after being stunned from the phasers, which is odd. The phaser setting should have not killed them."
A nurse came back and revealed the results out loud, "Doctor, the black material is toxic that contains trichloridglycerine."
Jason came up behind Leanne, "See? I told you that it has to be some kind of toxin." He looked at the Romulan, "I think that this device is like a suicidal implant...doncha' think?"
"It's a possibility," Leanne said as she watched Mister Lovok taking a look at the devices.
"Well let's find out," Marek said and opened his tool-kit, took out a cutter and began dissecting the device.
Doctor Hart and the nurse left to get back to work. Doctor Bowen crossed her arms as she watched the Engineering officer work with his tools on this device for a minute. "Let me know if you find out. I'll be in my office." She picked up the PADD that the nurse left on the biobed and head to her comfort zone.
---10 minutes later---
Bits of the implants lay about the table Marek was working at; the Romulan studied what was left of the dissembled implants; he found that the mechanisms inside had an empty capsule and a tube.
Marek thought back to what his parents told him about the Tal Shiar and their how they conducted their operations as well as how their operatives were trained. One particular thing he recalled was should an operative be captured and with no means of escape the operative would kill themselves.
"Suicide implants," Marek said to himself as he grabbed the PADD he was entering his report on and head over to the chief medical officer's office.
Leanne Bowen looked up from her desk when the engineering officer walked in. "Did you figured it out?"
Marek frowned. "I'm afraid your patients committed suicide Doctor," he replied. "The implants injected them with toxins."
"Well, that makes sense of the black stuff was the toxins inside the abdominal cavity...the phaser fire set on stun activated these implants to kill them? I wondered why they would attempt to do such a thing..."
Marek couldn't help himself. "To silence them?" He asked to no one in particular.
"That's pathetic. Well, I appreciate that you came down to look at this device. I'm going to report to Mister Tovan of the findings," Leanne said as she stood up from her chair and walked out with him to the main sickbay. "Just leave the device here and I'll get it to him. Thanks, Ensign."
"Quite welcome Doctor, any time." Marek said as the two walked in the main area of Sickbay. He collected his toolkit and tools then made his way out of Sickbay.
Doctor Bowen watched the engineering officer leave before she hit her combadge. "Doctor Bowen to Lieutenant-Commander Tovan."
