"What do you have in mind?" Ronnie asked. This looked promising, but she wasn't sure what the next step should be.

"Well, I would say that we test it out on the actual device..." Sakura suggested.
"Do you mean test it on a person instead of just the device itself?" They'd been using the device, but they really hadn't tried it with a real person to see how it affected their neural pathways.
Jerry raised an eyebrow, lightly. "Wait. Can you send out a shutdown signal? Because I'll just need to go down there once, and I can tell you within about twenty minutes whether the things are functional. Trust me."
"If we simply shut down the device we are only taking care half of the problem. There isn't anything stopping someone else from coming back and using another device such as the one we shut down to do the same thing. It would be like if I pulled out the power supply from this console and left with it. Someone else can come and replace the power supply and use the console." Sakura stated.
"Agreed. We need to make sure they aren't used again," Ronnie said.
Sakura nodded. "The problem is we don't know how many people are connected to this device it could take a while for us to fully get rid of all the devices."
"If we can start, we can give the information to the planetary government and let them get rid of the rest," Ronnie suggested. "That way if the people behind this try again, the Turkanans will know how to combat it."
Sakura nodded. "That's what I was thinking as well."
"Great. Let's do it," Ronnie said cheerfully.
"We need to gather all the information we have along with some type of instructions for them to follow..." Sakura said.
"Agreed." Ronnie began to compile data. "I've got the basic information, including what you found. We just need to tell them how to locate them and shut them down."
"That shouldn't be too hard." Sakura said. "All we have to do is trace all the locations that the device is broadcasting too."
"Okay. You lead, I'll follow."
Sakura nodded. "I had a feeling you'd leave it in my hands Lieutenant." Sakura smiled at Ronnie. "Let's see, if we can get inside the devices memory banks there should be a database with all of the devices that are connected to it." Sakura worked on the console.
"You're the communications expert," Ronnie said. "If there's a database, it may be hard to find. It would be foolish to keep it on the planet. My guess is it's on a ship nearby." She pulled up a scan of the area indicating two dozen ships in the sector. "Take your pick."
Sakura looked at the map and sighed. "This could take a while." She looked to Ronnie. "You take the ships, I am going to take the device. Maybe we both of us working we can find something faster."
"Sounds good," Ronnie said. She began to run an analysis program on all the ships to narrow them down some.
Sakura turned back to the console and began working on attempting to make a connection with the device. She was trying to get into the device by using the back door.
In the meantime, Ronnie spent the next half hour examining and weeding out one ship after another. Finally, she'd narrowed it down to three. "These three have been in the area the longest. They rotate locations to appear to be coming and going, but they keep repeating the same pattern."
Sakura looked at Ronnie. "I'm in." She said with a smile as she just managed to get into the device's memory via a back door. "Let's see if there is a record of one of those ships sending a signal to the devices and vice versa." Sakura accessed the log with the information concerning the transmissions to the device. "The one of the far left has had the longest transmissions frame with the device."
"Great. Now we have the ship and the signal. Do you have a location for all the devices?"
"Got it." Sakura said as she looked at Ronnie. The screen showed that the download was complete. "I'm uploading it to the PADD right now."
"This is ready to add to it," Ronnie said, adding her data to Sakura's. "I think we're good to go."
Sakura nodded. "Yes, it looks that way." She said as she handed Ronnie the PADD. "I leave it in your hands."
"Thanks," Ronnie replied. "I'll get it to the Captain." She glanced at Jerry for confirmation. "Thank you for all your help, Sakura."
"I'm glad I could be of assistance." She smiled at both of them. "Let me know if you need anything else." She said as she walked out of the lab.
