Mission:
Peace, or Something Like It
Location: Turkana IV
Timeline: Current
ON:
The Drop ship pilot looked back at the people that were in his vessel. It was a smallish ship, with nothing to do with high operations. It was used mostly for boarding parties when they didn't want to use a transporter, or didn't want to drop the shields long enough to do anything. "You'll be ground side in six minutes folks, thank you for flying Dropping Airlines and we hope you come again soon. As soon as your on the ground, I'll be taking off again. Any one of you can call for an extraction, but it had better be when your mission is done, or you need to get out from some firepower."
Jaxara nodded. Sitting across from him, among 3 security officers was a Gunnery Sergeant. "Miss, you don't seem to be very interested in hanging with the rest of the marines."
The Gunnery Sergeant shook her head. "Not a big fan of the marine corps. I'm actually waiting for my transfer to Security to come through."
Jaxara shrugged. "Is the phaser cannon ready."
Daniels nodded. "And your... secondary protocols... as well." Daniels added. "Though I'm fairly certain Marine Captain Raine would disapprove of them."
"What kind of secondary protocols?" The Gunnery Sergeant asked.
Jaxara shook his head. "You answer directly to Marine Captain Raine. I don't want you to feel obligated to explain it to him."
The woman nodded. "Gunnery Sergeant Tramira Kyt." She said, nodding to Jaxara and Daniels.
"Ensign Daniel Daniels. Weapons specialist." Daniels noted, as Jaxara got the rest of Security ready. "And that's the infamous Lieutenant Lorne Jaxara, Chief Security and Tactical Officer, certified nut, and voted most likely by Security to be behind bars before we're done with this mission."
The woman laughed. "Great. That will leave a job opening in Security."
Daniels shook his head. "He's not going to give up that easily."
"Daniels!" Jaxara exclaimed from the back.
"Pardon me." Daniels said.
Tramira returned her attention to the Marine Officers. "Just keep in mind, boys. I may be a corpsman, but that doesn't mean you should be expecting me to just drop everything and start handing out medical treatment, if you get shot. I'm a soldier first, and a medic second." She noted.
One of the Marines nodded and brought up his own kit. "We already have a battlefield medic boss. If worse comes to worse and I get shot, then it goes downhill from there." With a smile, he slipped the case back to his hip and closed his eyes.
"Figured that the Marine CO would have a back-up. I'm not well-known for being the saver of lives." She said with a nod.
"Ensign Koritala, front and center, please." Came Jaxara's voice from the back. "And will someone please tell me why Chief Warrant Officer Winchester is on this mission, instead of in the brig?"
"Blame Lieutenant Lire, sir." Daniels noted. "She said something about lack of available staff, and emergency circumstances. And Ensign Koritala isn't in this squad."
A trill expletive was then uttered from the back of the shuttle. "Well then who's bloody gear is this?"
"Chief, that's your gear." Daniels pointed out.
Tovan leaned back in the seat and closed his eyes. He had taken a seat away from both teams at the entrance into the transport vessel. He just finished reviewing the mission notes on the PADD that he received from the Major.
He wasn't exactly thrilled to be on this mission. He found no reason for him to tag along expect to be the only sane one from what he had observed and to shoot Jaxara if he stepped out of the line.
He did plan on giving his best effort during the mission. He was a professional who was going to carry out his orders. He opened his eyes and looked around the transport. Everyone seemed to be aboard. He stood up to his feet. He pressed the button and the door began to shut on the transport.
"Alright people! Listen up! Our mission is to infiltrate the facility that we picked up on our sensor. This facility is using up a lot of power and Major Raine wants to know why. And frankly so do I. The only information we have on this facility is from our sensors and honestly that hasn't been much help due to the natural mineral content in the surrounding area. What we do know is that this facility is some type of factory. We don't know what exactly they are manufacturing but security is pretty tight."
"The facility is blocked off by a fence with one gate in the front. It is the only way in and out. There are total of six guard towers with no more than two men in each. We also suspect that there are at least five to ten men patrolling the fence perimeter."
"We are not exactly sure what kind of resistance we shall face once we make it to the main building and inside the building but I suspect that we shall face the same type of resistance that we do outside. As I stated earlier we do not know what it is being manufacture inside the facility so make sure you have your target before opening fire. We don't need anything blowing up. Is that understood...?" Delon asked the whole group but his eyes were focused on Jaxara.
