Mission:
Peace, or Something Like It
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: Current

A couple of hours went by when it was the night shift turning to the morning shift. Leanne Bowen felt better and rested when she walked into sickbay with a cup of coffee in hand. She looked at the main room of sickbay, seeing only one person on the biobed. Karma Sinclair, she remembered. Leanne noted a nurse sitting beside his biobed and decided to approach her to find out about the Commander.
"How is he doing, Nurse Tarango?"
She glanced up from her PADD, "Same as usual with the vitals. Lab work shows the cardiac enzymes to be a little high, ma'am."
"Hmm. We still have another 24 hours to see the real results. How are you feeling?"
"A lot better, but with some cold symptoms here and there. Doctor Hart told me to take it easy on my feet," Barbara said with a smile.
"That's good. Carry on with your duties...", Leanne turned to head to her office. She was glad that things appear to be under control in her fort, that is, sickbay. She went in to find Jason sitting in her chair behind the desk, looking at the monitor. There's Doctor Charming, she thought as she shook her head.
Doctor Hart glanced up, seeing his boss walked into the office. "You're back." He sat back in the chair to watch her, "how are you feeling?"
"Better but not a hundred percent," she said as brought the mug to her lips to take a sip. After she took a short sip, "how was the night? Did anybody come in?"
"As a matter of fact...yes. Lieutenant Tovan kidnapped a woman from the planet...a resistant leader. She collapsed after the transport and he brought her here. It was discovered that she had metal device on the back of her neck. I had to activate the EMH to help me remove the device without damage..."
"Oh dear," Leanne wondered what he got into.
"Well, it was sucessful and I deactivated the EMH. Tovan took her and the device to figure out what it is and why it was on her. The purpose was the find the captain," he said as he handed the PADD to her. "That's the paperwork on it. And, I placed a neuro device to keep track of her vitals. Tovan promised to return her to sickbay. Her name is Lumiya."
"Great. You know, he can get court-martial for kidnapping a person from the planet," she shook her head in disbelief. "I hope he knows what he is doing because I sure hate to see him get into that kind of trouble."
"Tell that to him. Look at it this way," Jason said as he stood up from her chair. "We are sitting ducks without our Captain AND her first officer. A marine officer that is in charge might give us a stratetic plan to find Commander York."
She took a sip again. "I really hope he knows what he is doing. The way the Commander Sinclair looks, it really is not positive right now."
Doctor Hart moved out of the way so that Leanne can take her chair to sit down. He moved to the other side of the desk to face her. "I had Nurse Tarango be in charge of his vitals so she can keep her feet up. Nurse Jaynes is off-duty and will be in soon."
"Good plan. I think it is time for you to get off-duty and take a break. I'll handle the rest...", she said as she put the mug down on her desk and glanced at a few PADDs that were not too important right now. "Shoo-shoo, out of the office."
"Yes, ma'am," Jason said as he turned and left.
