Mission: Peace, or Something Like It

[New Paris, Turkana IV]

"Sir, everyone is here. We are ready to begin." Morgan said. She found herself sitting in her office with James and Sakura each occupying a different chairs that were located in front of her desk. She didn't tell them anything concerning the situation only had Tovan had request that three of them contact him within an hour.

"Excellent. I have asked Lieutenant Faye not to disclose the reason for this meeting as I wanted to be the one to inform you along with the plan that we will follow through this evening." Tovan paused. The waitress that he had been interacting left the front door and headed down the road than turned into an ally which he knew that it was a dead end. A few seconds later a man and a woman dressed in black followed into the alley. It was the same man and woman that had been following him since he left the chamber building.

Morgan looked puzzled at both James and Sakura as Tovan had paused. The silence had gone on for more than usual. "Is everything alright...sir?" She grew concerned as he didn't answer right away. "Sir...?"

"Yes, sorry. I'm here." Tovan responded after a few more seconds. He positioned himself to where he could watch the alley from. It was only natural that he was being followed. However, he wondered what involved the waitress had in this matter. It could be that they just wanted to talk to her about him or maybe even slip something into his drink.

"Anyways, where was I?" He said as he thought for a moment. "Oh yes, that's right. Basically I have been invited to dine with Minister Onasi. She is in charge of the Alliance down here on the planet. I don't believe that she will cause me any harm however I want to be sure that if anything should go south that we have a plan in place. From the brief conversation I had with her she seems like she wants to know about what involvement Federation and Starfleet have here on this planet."

"I have also discussed the dinner with Commander York, and she has given the okay for me to proceed with the dinner this evening." Tovan paused again. He noticed that the man and woman walked out of the alley and headed down opposite from him. A few moments later the waitress came walking around the corner. She smiled at Tovan and walked into the caf.

"Anyways, I need the three of you to be my support team for this mission. Ensign Miyazaki, I will need you to monitor all of the transmissions going in and out of the palace. I also need you to come up with a way for me to signal you in case something goes wrong...a type of SOS..."

Sakura nodded to herself gently as she took notes on a PADD that she brought with her. "I understand sir, I believe that I have just the thing for that but it will take me a few hours to put it together."

"Pull anyone and everyone that you need in order to finish it as quickly as possible. The full resources of the Operations department are at your disposal. I am also positive that if we need help from engineering that Chief Montgomery won't hesitate to give us her support."

"Now, Chief Munro I might need a quick beam out of the palace. So, I will need you to keep a lock on me in case I do send the signal to be beamed out. "

"That shouldn't be too hard to do sir as long as they don't have a jamming device in place. I will run a scan of the palace as soon as we are done here." James stated.

"I haven't been made aware that there is any type of jamming device in place, however I wouldn't put it past them to have something. This could very well be overkill but I still want to make sure that we are ready for any scenario that should arise. Now, what have you found out Lieutenant Faye?"

Morgan sighed. "Honestly sir, not a whole lot. Starfleet database doesn't have any information on Minister Lumiya Onasi and what little information there is on the Alliance it all seems to be speculation. I'm sorry. It seems that Federation hadn't been keeping a close eye on this planet since the colony was lost."

"I was afraid of that. It was worth a try anyway. You all known your assignments, so let's get to it people." Tovan said. He pushed his cup towards the middle of the table and stood up. He had been sitting there long enough it was time for him to get back to his exploring and information collecting.

"Understood sir. We will signal you when we are ready with the device."

"Tovan out."
