[USS Calypso - Lounge]
The doors leading into the lounge opened and Allison stepped inside. It was slightly busy but that was to be expected. The evening hours had always been the busier time than during the day. She was dressed in a pair of skin tight jeans. She had a gray v neck shirt on and a pair of black tennis shoes. Her hair pulled back into a pony tail. She scanned the room trying to see if James was already there otherwise she would have to fight for a table. Lucky enough for her she noticed James sitting at a table near the window. She smiled as she approached the table. "I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long."
James looked up at Allison from the table and smiled. He stood up as she took a seat and he moved back into his chair. "You didn't. I just got here a couple of minutes ago." James was dressed in a pair of jeans, a long sleeve shirt and a pair of tennis shoes. His hair looked like he had just gotten out of a shower; it was wet and slightly messy.
"Good. I was running a little late and I knew how busy this place gets at night." She said as she looked around at all the people that were in the lounge drinking, eating and talking. Her attention moved back to James and she smiled at him. "So, what are you drinking?"
James looked down to the glass that was half-way filled with a clear liquid. She chuckled lightly as he looked back up at her. "Well, it's this really great drink that I had when I visited a planet in the Gamma Quadrant." He picked up the glass and took a sip.
"Oh really...?" Allison leaned forward with a new found interest in this drink. She watched him take a sip and he seemed to enjoy it greatly. "So, does it have a name?"
The glass still in his hand he leaned forward and offered it to her. "Have a sip."
Allison took the glass with a bit of hesitation. She brought it up to her nose and smelled but it really didn't have much of a smell. If she had to guess she would say it was something like water but it couldn't be, or could it. She looked at James with a curious look and brought the glass to her lips and took a sip. She placed the glass back down in frustration in front of James. "You tricked it. It's water!" She said and kicked James lightly in the shin underneath the table.
James had watched her and could barely hold his laugh back so when she took a sip and realized it was just water he busted out laughing. It took him a couple of minutes to catch his breath but when he did he looked at her smiling. "I'm sorry, I couldn't help it."
"I should have expected as much from you." Allison said looking away for a moment. She had to admit it was pretty funny and she did fall for it. But Morgan did also warn her to watch out for James so she made a mental note concerning James.
"And what is that suppose to mean...?" James asked looking at Allison at bit oddly.
Allison shook her head. "Nothing..." She responded. Before she could say anything else the waitress had approached the table and asked what Allison would like to drink. After she got the order from Allison she turned and left and Allison looked back to James. "So, thank you for meeting me here."
"Well, it wasn't what I had in mind but I'm still glad you decided to take me up on my offer to hang out with me tonight. I was afraid you might avoid me for the rest of my life." James said. He had leaned back in his chair and watched Allison.
Allison shook her head gently. "I wouldn't do that. In all honesty it was just a bit awkward; I haven't had many moments like that." She said but looked away at the same time her cheeks began to turn bright red. "And I also felt that this would be a more appropriate place." The waitress came back with the drink and placed it in front of Allison. Allison thanked her and returned her attention to James.
"Well, I do want to apologize for walking in on you. It wasn't very appropriate of me to just walk in on someone's program while it was running, but I was curious and it just got the best of me..."James attempted to explain.
Allison grabbed the glass and took a sip. She placed the glass back down and smiled at James. "No worries, I was the one that went over my time. The holo suite was technically supposed to be yours. I just lost track of time."
"That tends to happen when you are having fun. I can see why you choose that place for a swim. It was very beautiful; it almost reminded me of beaches back on Earth. The water seemed very nice and warm, the sand was pure white and the scenery was good as well. And I mean all of it." James said before taking a sip of the water and winking at Allison.
She couldn't help but start blushing when she heard what he had to say and his wink. She had a pretty good idea what all that entailed. She shook her head and sipped at her drink. Her foot made contact with his shin again.
"Ouch! That hurts you know." James protested her kicks. It was the second time she had done it and it didn't really hurt but he still played it off really well.
"Awww...I'm sorry. Do you want me to kiss it better?" Allison asked with a playful tone in her voice. She was flirting with him of course, but it was all innocent.
"That would be really wonderful if you can do that." James said with a smile and a nod of his head.
"Don't think I've had enough drinks to do that just yet." She responded and placed the half empty glass on the table in front of her. She leaned back in her seat and smiled at him.
"Well, I better order some more in that case." James said and both of them laughed at the comment. The situation was finally starting to feel a lot less tense. Allison didn't feel awkward around him anymore and he didn't seem to either. It could be a very good start to a wonderful friendship.
