Meeting the Boss

Location: Main Engineering
Timeline: Prior to "Come ride with me Part 1"

ON:

Shalie entered Main Engineering after leaving the company of Delon Tovan. She was looking forward to meeting her new boss and getting this duffel bag off her shoulder. She wondered her way thought the buzz of activity as she made her way to the Chief 's Office. She tapped the chime and waited for permission to enter.

Kalyka wasn't in her office, but she was on her way. She stopped outside her office and saw the young woman standing there. "Hello. Can I help you?" Seeing the look of slight confusion on the young woman's face, she said, "I'm LtJG Kalyka. That's my office. What do you need, Petty Officer?" The woman's smile was calm, almost serene, and very welcoming.

Shalie cleared her throat before she spoke. "Shalie Montgomery, Sir." She started as she lowered her bag off of her shoulder. "Newly transferred to your engineering team...simply wanted to report to you before I settled in." She handed the padd she held out for the Lieutenant to look over if she chose.

Kalyka took the padd from the green woman and looked it over. "You did good work on the Marianne. I assume I can expect the same kind of good work here?"

"Yes, Sir." Shalie said quickly with a nod. "I enjoy my job and I am willing to do pretty much anything that is asked of me." She looked over her boss for a second trying to get a read off of her.

Kalyka gave her the padd back. "Welcome aboard the Calypso," she said with a smile. "I hope you enjoy your time aboard as much as I do."

Shalie nodded as she took the offered PADD. "Thank you Sir." She added with a grin. "I am looking forward to it." That and getting settled in. She thought as she glanced around Engineering.

"Well, go get settled in, and report back here at 0800 hours tomorrow for your first shift.

"Yes Sir." Shalie said with a grin. With a nod she turned on her heels and headed to find her quarters. With her duffel bag adjusted over her shoulder she exited Main Engineering. Until tomorrow my friend...
