Mission:
Peace, or Something Like It
Location: USS Calypso - Deck 12 - Sickbay
Timeline: Current
[USS Calypso - Sickbay]
Aaron & Samantha had left the cargo bay. Aaron being very concerned about her health insisted that they went to sickbay to have her checked out. He was pretty sure that she had a fever. She also looked tired. She wasn't happy with him and Aaron knew it but he wanted to be safe on this. The arrived on the 12th deck and headed down the corridor. As they walked Sam started to sway from side to side lightly. She eventually ended up almost falling to the ground but Aaron had managed to catch her before she did.
He looked to her with her eyes half closer. She tried to push herself up to stand up and make her way to sickbay but she failed. She was feeling very weak. She had never felt anything like this before, it felt like a flu but it seemed worse. Maybe it was because she had pushed herself so hard. She wasn't able to carry herself to sickbay so with help of Aaron they made it in. Aaron helped her to the nearest bed. "Doctor..." Aaron called out.
A man appeared out of thin air, "Please state the nature of the emergency."
Aaron sighed. Great...just what I need... Aaron thought to himself as he looked at the holo-graphic doctor that had appeared in front of him. "Well, your patient is Miss Gates." He motioned towards the bed. "I believe that she has a fever. She feels very warm. She also tells me that she feels very weak."
The EMH doctor frowned as he walked over to the lady on the biobed. He picked up the medical tricorder and started the scans. Less than two minutes, he returned the instrument to the tray. "Aw, yes...a fluenza. Hand me the hypospray in cabnet 2 and get me a vial of Terinol". He waited impatiently.
Aaron had stepped aside and watched as the holographic doctor worked on his patient. These things came in handy, he had to admit that much but he still would have preferred to have a real doctor on staff that was helping them out. As the doctor ordered him to grab something out of the cabinet Aaron raised an eye brow and walked to the cabinet. He came back a few seconds later with a hypospray.
The EMH doctor took the hypospray and looked at it. "Wrong one, nurse," he said with agitation and went over the the cabnet to pull out another hypospray. He went back without looking at the man standing there.
Aaron had a feeling that he had picked up the wrong one. After all he had never done anything like this. This wasn't his field. The EMH had also called him nurse. He looked at the holographic doctor and shook his head. "I'm not a nurse..." But his protest went unheard as the EMH was too busy.
Just then, Doctor Bowen walked into the room, looked at the woman on the biobed being treated by a man, whom she doesn't recognized, and another man standing closeby the biobed. "What is going on here?" She went over to observe the patient.
Aaron watched as the female doctor walked in and moved over where Sam was laying down. "We were working in a cargo bay when she I believe fell down because that's where I found her. She said she was a bit weak and also has a pretty big fever."
She picked up the tricorder to look at the scanned data on the patient. "And who are you? I haven't seen you before and why are you working on this patient?" She asked the one who is working.
The EMH looked at her up and down. "The Emergency Medical Holagram."
Leanne became a little furious, "Computer, deactivate the Emergency Medical Holagram."
After the man disappeared, she let out a sigh. "I'm sorry for that to happen...so, you found her in the cargo bay?" The doctor glanced at the patient, doing her assessment without the instrument. "It sure looks like a flu here..."
"Actually we were both working in cargo bay together. When I turned around from what I was doing to check up on her she was on the ground." Aaron explained.
Leanne looked over to another biobed. She recognized that it was her nurse, Barbara Tarango. What is she doing back in sickbay? "Have you seen Doctor Hart? Or, was it just the EMH here when you walked in?"
Aaron looked over at the doctor. "Everything alright?"
"I hope so," she glanced at him, "Doctor Hart was suppose to be working on this shift...he must have activated the EMH. Anyways, this flu must be a tough one because my nurse over there has it too." Maybe I shouldn't say too much to alarm him, the doctor thought as she is about to jump to conclusions of it being contagious. "Well, you did the right thing to bring her here. And before you leave, be sure to sanitize your hands over there in that sink." She went back to monitor Samantha Gates and checked on Barbara Tarango to compare notes on the signs and symptoms.
Aaron nodded lightly as he looked over to the direction that the doctor had pointed him and then back at her. She was already working on her patients. Flu... It seemed to be more serious than the good doctor was willing to let on. But it was none of his business. "Alright doctor, if you could please let me know how she is doing and I will come back to check on her after my shift."
"Sure no problem," Leanne said while working on her patients, glancing at him and back to Samantha who is still unconscious.
Aaron could see that the doctor was busy with whatever she was doing, so he nodded lightly. Cleaned himself up and took one last look over at Sam before leaving the sickbay.
