After his encounter with Kalyka, who told him that there was a replicator in need of replacement isolinar chips, Marek had collected the spare chips from storage and entered the Mess.

He looked around at the various people enjoying their meals inside. Suddenly a loud noise attracted his attention and he saw that someone was about the hit the replicator control panel again. "Please," he said rushing up to the officer. "I know it makes you feel better but breaking something else is not going to help."

"Who are you Ensign?" The officer asked somewhat annoyed by Marek's tone.

"Engineer Marek Lovok and I've come to fix the replicator." He said.

The officer eyed the Romulan then nodded. "Excellent, make it work."

Marek clearly saw that the officer knew nothing about the replicator workings and the officer's more orange then yellow uniform told Marek that the officer was in Security. ~ Well that explains the hit it if it doesn't work method. ~ He thought amused.

"I will if you give me some room," Marek said as the security officer was now hovering a little too close as the Romulan suspected the security officer wanted something to eat that very minute.

"Sorry," the security officer headed off and Marek set to work checking out all the replicator components then recalibrating the new isolinar chips as he replaced the old ones.

It became clear that a chip was incorrectly labeled and Marek raised an eyebrow at the wrong chip as he held it up. "Odd," he commented. It wasn't a common mistake to mislabel an isolinar chip and especially on a new starship; Marek would have to report this to Kalyka when he could get her attention later.

The replicator control panel brightened as it came back online and Marek smiled. He decided to test it. "Chocolate milkshake with a scoop of Vanilla ice cream." He ordered and a series of dancing lights in the same arrangement of a transporter beam came into existence then faded leaving a tall glass in it's place.

Marek had become addicted to Chocolate but not too badly during his early childhood and enjoyed it ever since. He packed up his tools into his kit then put it beside him and grabbed the milkshake glass that had a spoon in it. Marek made his way to a nearby table with the kit in one hand and the shake in the other; he sat down and began to eat the ice cream then drank the Chocolate goodness.
