[Sickbay]

"You didn't do the order right...nurse," Doctor Hart said as he looked at his PADD and glanced at the patient. "First is the sedative and second you give the Meridol." He was getting agitated when something was not right. He remind himself that this nurse is still fairly new and it will take time to get some experience through age.

"Oh, I was told the other way around in nursing school...", Nurse Jaynes said nervously as if she is in trouble. She still doesn't know the new doctor yet.

"Well, Doctor Bowen's protocol is this particular way and it works best. So, where is Nurse Tarango?" Believe it or not, he likes to work with her as she is better with experience.

"She came down with some sort of flu..."

"Oh, great. Was she treated for that?" He said as he continued to read the PADD before he handed it back to her.

"Yes...it happened while she was working when she felt real tired, and did a lot of sneezing." Yvette accepted the PADD from him. She started to calm down her nerves a little, as she realized that Doctor Hart isn't the kind of person that will raise his voice and be mean. She watched him carefully.

"Alright. Is this the last patient?" He looked at the young man laying on the biobed.

"Yes, sir. That's the one you were looking at on the PADD. He came in for kidney failure."

"And Doctor Bowen requested the Meridol on him?" Jason wondered.

"Yes, sir."

"How long ago?" He asked as he approached the patient who turned his head to look at him.

"Five hours ago..."

"Okay...the results?"

"Remarkable improvement, sir," she said with a satified voice.

Jason looked at the patient and gave him a short smile, "How you doing?"

"Better, doc. When can I leave?"

"In five minutes."

Nurse Jaynes raised her eyebrows, "Um, that is not our protocol with this type of illness...he has to be monitored for twenty-four hours to come to the decision."

Jason frowned and looked at her, "Well, he is feeling fine. I'm discharging him." He took the PADD out of her hands and signed the form. He handed the PADD back to her. He turned to look at the patient. "You are discharged. Bed rest in your quarters for 12 hours. If any symptoms appear, call me. Otherwise, you can return to full duty after 24 hours from now."

Yvette cannot believe her ears. She left the area and went into Doctor Bowen's office and placed the PADD on her desk. She hoped that he is not rushing this patient out. I need a break now, she thought as she approached the replicator to order a cup of tea.

The patient sat up and frowned, "I can leave now?"

"Yes!" Jason nearly raised his voice. "Yes, I just told you bedrest..."

"I get it...," the patient removed himself off the biobed and grabbed his uniform, walked out of sickbay without another word.

Jason let out a sigh. He looked around the room and was glad that it is empty now. He was getting tired as he went over to a high chair and sat down. He still hoped that Leanne would decide soon on a get-together.
