Daniels looked at Lire.
"He's a nutter." Lire muttered. "Off his rock. A dump truck, and 54 bricks short of a load. A day late and a credit short."
"I get it, Myrna." Daniels said, looking towards the brig cells. "What should we do?"
"Well, first off, we'll have to cancel Jaxara's date with Ensign De Fresa." Myrna sad.
"ARE YOU SERIOUS, MYRNA! ARE YOU THAT DAFT?" Daniels exclaimed.
"Well, you know, she is important to the Chief." Myrna said.
"MYRNA! YOU ARE A NUTTER!" Daniels exclaimed again.
"Could you keep your voice down?" Myrna asked. "I've got a headache. It's name is Lorne."
Daniels shook his head.
"Well..." He said, trailing off.
"What?" Myrna asked.
"We could replicate the two of them dinner, and bend the force-field around a dinner table." Daniels mumbled.
"Why... That's BRILLIANT." Myrna said. "Too bad the Captain would jettison you out an airlock for a stunt like that."
"You said it yourself. She's important to the Chief." Daniels countered.
"DANIELS! THE MAN IS A BLOODY NUTTER!" Myrna said, making fun of Daniels.
"He's still Chief." Daniels said.
"And?" Myrna asked.
"He's my first Chief." Daniels finished.
"Well... uhm... gee. That's uh..." Myrna trailed off. "I hadn't thought about that."
"That's because he's not your first Chief." Daniels said.
"Well, I suppose." Myrna said.
"We'll have to wait until after the Captain has chewed him out." Daniels said. "It'd look pretty bad, if the Captain came in, prepared to chew him out, and he was having a dinner date." Daniels said.
"DANIEL! YOU ARE MAD!" Myrna said, shaking her head. "They'll bust you out of the fleet for this."
"If it was you, or me, or any other member of this staff, would the Chief do it for them?" Daniels asked.
"Oh bloody hell. You HAD to go there." Myrna said.
"Well?" Daniels Asked.
"Daniels!"
"WELL?"
"Bloody nutter. The lot of you."
