"Lieutenant Jaxara to Ensign De Fresa. Are you busy?" Lorne asked, as he got up, and left the Security Lounge.
Suzette was getting used to her new job in Ops. "Not really." She hadn't realized how time has passed and it was almost the end of her shift.
"Have you eaten yet?" He continued along his list of prodding questions.
"It depends on how you define 'yet,'" she said, chuckling. "But no, I have not eaten recently."
Lorne smiled. "Would you care to have dinner tonight?" He continued prodding, with a slight chuckle.
"I don't eat very much..." Suzette warned him hesitantly.
Lorne laughed. "I do believe we've covered that already." He said.
Suzette laughed as well. "I do believe you're right. Okay then, dinner it is."
Lorne smiled. "Great. Should we eat here on the ship, or on the Starbase?"
Suzette's first thought was to stay on the ship. Everyone gave her strange looks when she went 'out in public.' She didn't like that. But, she also liked to visit new places. It was a tough decision. "Whatever you want."
Lorne shook his head, with a smirk. "Somehow, I think you'd feel a lot safer, if we stayed aboard."
He was right. "Yes, but if there's not a lot of traffic I might be okay on the starbase..."
Lorne suddenly had a devious idea. "What if I were to cook you something?"
Even though he couldn't see her, Suzette smiled. "I would like that."
"Now here's the question. The million credit question. What do you eat?" Lorne said, suddenly realizing that his specialty of Shrimp Tomato sauce and Spaghetti probably wasn't going to go over well.
"I eat most things," she said, chuckling. "I'm just not able to eat more than a small amount."
"Shrimp skewers and rice?" Lorne asked. "Or perhaps something not so seafood-related?
"That would be fine if I could have one small skewer and a limy bit of rice," she said.
Lorne laughed. "Roasted Sunflower seeds?"
That made Suzette laugh. "That I could handle. But I would like to see what you do to the poor shrimp."
Lorne smirked. "You know, I don't think I know how to cook for two and a half people. This presents a challenge." He said, with a chuckle.
"Two and a half? Who else are you inviting?" she asked.
Lorne laughed. "I eat for two." He said. "At least, according to proper servings."
"Well, if you can eat for 1 3/4 we should be good with a serving for two," she replied, chuckling.
"I suppose I could give it a shot. I'm told I over-eat anyways." Lorne said with a chuckle. "It'll be nice, anyways. Cooking for someone else. Not a treat I've enjoyed over the past few years."
"My shift ends in 20 minutes."
"I've still got a few hours." Lorne said, frowning. "Though it shouldn't take long to get everything ready."
"I'm looking forward to it," Suzette said, smiling. "What time do you want me to come by?"
"Provided nothing unexpected occurs, whenever you are available." Lorne said.
"Then I will go to my quarters and you can call me when you're ready for me," Suzette said practically. "I will simply read while I wait for you."
Lorne smiled. "This sounds like a plan. I hope things work out." He said, finding his desire to smile unstoppable.
"Then I will wait for you to contact me later," Suzette said. "De Fresa out." She was looking forward to the evening.
