On

John Looked out into a blue haze of activity, awestruck at the size of the USS Orion. The Observation deck gave Sheridan a great view of the hundreds of crewmen below refitting the vessel on the third watch. He thought there would be little activity this late but this was not the case. This ship was near completion and dying to break free of the station. John walked down the deck looking out, watching Ablative armor being replaced on the front of the giant main Pod. Squinting he observed there could be Thousands of people on the ship working....

Sheridan was leaning on the rail just watching the show, he saw a Lieutenant-Commander doing the same a few feet away.

"Quite a ship isn't she Sir."

"Oh yes" came the slightly excited reply from the Commander, "and she's not even powered up yet!"

"I hope to be on the bridge of that ship when that happens, Sir"

The Commander looked puzzled; "Where else would you be, your her First Officer!"

At that point John realized he was talking to his Commanding Officer... "Commander Montgomery? Glad to meet you Sir I'm John Sheridan."

"Sorry, I couldn't resist playing you a little" said Montgomery, shaking hands with this XO, "So this is how a legend begins ehh?" he added with just a hint of sarcasm.

John Smiled and nodded towards the ship..."Look at all those people, it's amazing. We're getting some new Armor too."

Montgomery nodded, "Hopefully we'll be able to go aboard by the end of the week, until then can you arrange some office space on the station, and get the personnel checked in?"

"Absolutely Sir, I'll forward our temporary location to you as soon as it's secured, I have a few friends here on Jupiter Station that can help us from Procurement, I pretty sure It will be on deck Twenty."

Smiling, James replied "always nice to have friends in high places, but sometimes starbases are just as good!" he looked back out at the massive hull of the USS Orion, "It's good that they can pack so much firepower into small ships these days, but there's nothing quite like scaring the hell-outta your enemy by turning up in something massive!"

"That's the good thing about Starfleet, When they build Starships they arn't screwing around... Well it was good to meet you Sir, Why don't you stop by Deck Twenty tomorrow if you get a chance. I better get outta here, I could sit here all night watching but need the rest for the Morning.."
