Commander Samantha York walked into Main Engineering to talk with Lieutenant Adeyemon. She wanted to check on the status of the ship as they prepared to leave Typhon.
She walked into the room and looked around at the bustle of activity with a smile. The Chief would be in the middle of it somewhere.
Alex was putting the final touches on the sensor array recalibration with an Ensign who needed help. He called her over, saying he couldn't get the tuning just right, but as she tried to teach him, she found him paying a lot more attention to her body, than to her words. "The idea, Ensign...is to learn what I'm trying to teach you. Keep your eyes on the console or you'll be scrubbing plasma relays for the rest of your tour here..."
He looked at the console quickly, obviously shaken from his daze. "Yes, ma'am."
Alex noticed a red collared uniform out of the corner of her eye, and quickly turned to face the Commander. "Oh...Hello, Commander. What can I do for you?"
"I've read the reports from you and the engineers on Typhon, but I wanted to stop by and touch base with you before we leave."
"Sure," Alex said leading the Commander away from the majority of the noise into the area where her console sat, right by the warp core. "Anything you need to know..."
"Nothing specifically. I just wanted to check with you personally and be sure the Orion's good to go. We need to get to Tiberius IV as soon as we can," Sam replied.
"All systems are functioning perfectly, Commander. You have the Engineer's seal of approval to take her anywhere you may." Alex gave her a gorgeous smile.
"Excellent. Thank you," Sam replied with a smile. "Be warned that the lounge manager is not happy his lounge is still unfinished."
"I welcome the challenge that provides."
Sam chuckled at Alex's words. "Ted's definitely a challenge. The lounge, although important, is secondary to the mission. I will leave it to your discretion as to when you get to it." It wouldn't hurt Ted to wait for a day or two. But if Alex had the time, she was welcome to help him.
"I've tried to tell him that, and he tried to romantically seduce me into getting it ready quickly for him. Can you believe that?" She said quietly. "Just because I think he's cute...
"Oh, dear," Sam said, shaking her head. "I'm sorry." Ted was a little overbearing when it came to getting his lounge fixed. She had never thought of him as cute though... But then, she really only had one male on her mind lately. The thought made her smile.
Then she again looked at Alexandra. "Feel free to put him off if you have other work to do. The man can wait until we return to Typhon. Take care of the Orion first. If you have time after that, you can see to Mr. Turner's needs."
Sam turned and headed for the door. "Thank you for your time, Lieutenant."
