Mission:
Food for the Gods
Location: Calypso
ON
Sam walked into her Ready Room and dropped into her chair. It had been three days since they first left the Undercity. Three days where Sam acted as diplomat and liaison to facilitate negotiations between the two societies. Again, she was uniquely qualified for the job as a Starfleet Captain and a scientist who has studied both ancient and advanced cultures. Still, it was hard not to simply tell both parties what would be best. All she could do was gently guide them to an agreement that would benefit all parties and hopefully lead to more open relations. She missed being just a scientist, but she'd been given the history from the undercity to add to her collection and to study in her free time.
She wanted a cup of herb tea and her husband. He always knew how to help her relax after a long day--or a long several days. She would need to send a report to Starfleet, and then she could look at her messages.
((Planet))
With the permission of the native peoples of the planet, Aenar had been surveying the technology in the Undercity. He had been surprised at the generally good condition of what he had seen. Clearly they had designed it with durability in mind.
Some of the more delicate pieces of equipment had begun to show signs of wear and tear. Flagging them up with the people of the Undercity, the Bajoran assisted in their maintenance where asked.
All in all, he reflected as he transported back to the ship, it had been a good three days' work.
((Ops))
Shan scowled at the screen as she filled out her end of shift paperwork. "Stupid, meddlesome hypocrites," she muttered. "Shoulda dropped a bomb on the sons of- not negotiated a trade deal." She tossed her last PADD across the desk and pushed back up onto her feet. She had been angry and unfocused and.... FRUSTRATED for days. Ever since getting back from that underground prison they'd wanted to enslave her in.
She needed to get out of this office. Needed to DO something.
She had thrown herself into work when getting back up here, but right now, she just needed OUT. Filing a request for personal time, she left the office an hour early. She'd go to the gym. Work it out. Then.... Well. She'd have to see.
(Wolfe Quarters}
Ronnie picked up Elsa from daycare and took her back to their quarters. She didn't think it possible that a simple observation mission would end up as it did.
She barely had time to see the new chief of science. She hoped he wouldn't mind if she took a day or two to be a wife and mother before going back to work.

(Askard's Office)
Johnathan was busy detailing new training regiments for the entire Marine unit when his personal computer blipped with a message stating that the away team had returned. It didn't state any casualties or anything of the like, but that wasn't unusual in the least. With his own failed operations, he would often keep casualties close to his chest. Standing he stretched for a second before twisting left and right. Walking out of his office he turned left, then stopped and sighed.
"I still haven't figured out this ship..." he muttered looking confused in the middle of the ship.
(Kayhill's Office)
John finished reading a couple of reports that had come his way while on planet. Supplies and requisition matters. Even on mission, logistics never stopped.
He was pleased with how he had reacted. He had been out of practice for some time. Although there were areas to improve on, all in all, not too shabby.
(Bridge)
Munich sat in his chair on the bridge; the Commodore in her Ready Room so he was master of the ship; well in a small way, he did not like being in the Center chair with York just off the bridge. He was going over the report he had to submit to Fleet on his actions; his allowing two members of his away team be taken and then the repairs and strange happenings afterward.
He decided something; he wanted some time off and he would take it at port. Getting up and walking about the bridge checking the other Officers and crew working he checked the OPS for the communications relay he had established while on the planet. Casually moving about the bridge, he halt to check the Science station; namely one Maria Delgado
"How about we take some time after we reach port together; some time to do more of a courtship type thing?" He asked quietly as though checking her sensory monitor.
"I don't think I'll be busy," Maria said, smiling. "I would like to do something together. We can talk later." There would be plenty of time between now and when they arrived at the starbase. She turned back to the science console.
[Marine Country]
Kara walked along the deck, listening to the sounds of Marines working out or chatting as they went about their duties. It was good to have a new command team on board. She liked having nothing to worry about but her job and the Marines under her. Even though it didn't alter training much, there'd been an uncertainty she could feel before the Major showed up. And now, with a Marine XO, they were back to business as usual. It was a good feeling.
[Ready Room]
Sam finished her report. She double checked to be sure she included the request for service, the pyramid, the kidnapping, and the undercity. She believed the Calypso was within regulations to act as they did, especially as they remained disguised, even during the negotiations. The team were "visitors" from over the mountain. At least to the people on the surface. The people from the undercity were technological enough to be considered a first contact, and hopefully, when trade between the two cultures became more routine, there would be an opportunity for more open communication with Starfleet. But until then, she requested that an official science team be sent to the planet to observe and, if necessary, help the inhabitants adapt to the new normal. It would be a difficult adjustment for both parties, but Sam felt confident it would lead to positive change.
She finished her report and sent it to Starfleet then stood and stretched. "Sammi, collate the data from the planet and add it to my personal database."
A plush pink pig appeared and nodded to her before turning to the monitor to begin the task.
"Thanks." The commodore turned back to her computer and the never-ending list of reports and messages that required her attention.
