950 words; about a 5 minute read

Mission: Food for the Gods
Location: Calypso

ON

[Bridge]

The Communications panel flashed an incoming message on the same wavelength as the Distress signal.

"Commander Wolfe." COmmunications Deputy Chief Jhosa, the Deltan Officer turned to look at the command chairs. "I have an incoming communication on the same frequency as the Distress Signal originated. audio only Sir."

Damion sat in the Captain's chair, quietly and in thought, before looking towards the Deputy Chief. He cleared his throat and nodded before replying. "Put the Commander through."

=^= Commander Munich to Calpso,=^= The German accent came over the channel. =^= My away team of Tpar and Ensign Sirel are in the Computer complex and have effected repairs required here and I am working this Comm system and will be sending a message to the city below.=^= He continued. =^= What is the status of the Commodore's team?=^=

"We've lost contact with the Commodore and her team a few minutes ago." He paused slightly before raising a brow. "What was that about a city below?"

=^= I am trying to get through to them in the city by this system, give me a moment.. =^= Munich transmit.

Damion let out a sigh, in a slightly irritated but not angry way, as he stood up. He asked for more clarification about the city and that question was ignored.

=^= This is an advanced system for a non -Warp Capable appearing race. =^= Munich chuckled. =^= It took some slight adapting of Transmission wavelength to get contact.=^= the Audio was a stronger signal. =^= It is an interesting mix in the Mechanical support Systems; like the people on the surface have the Late 19th century STeam powered Technology with the Temple as a Staged front by the more advanced technology inside. The walls and building act as a buffer to keep the Surface dwellers in their place and Controllable Technology while this complex seems to both power the lower city which I have not gotten into as yet. And a Secondary purpose of an Earlier tech version of our Weather Control Buffers. =^= Munich explained. =^= I have sent a text style communication message to a receiver in the Lower City but have had no response yet.=^=

[Temple Communications Panel]

[Commander Munich] The words came across the screen. [I am Spartacus and sent here to let you know the landing party have established a forum to discuss matters here.]

Munich shook his head as that Orion Counselor was a never ending bit of surprises. He set to the reply message.

[Calypso has audio communication. What shall I report as progress?]

[Commodore York is using her Diplomatic Skills to open talks; it was a hesitant start and things are coming along. No need for the Marine contingent as yet. We will send word as things continue. Please assure Wolfe Away Team is unharmed and talking to elders down here. Your status?]

[Repairs complete, managed get here unseen and no one is causing problems. On stand by for your report.]

[I will relay, be back hopefully soon, did you pack a lunch, this could take a bit?]

[Standing by. Will make arrangements.] Munich did not know if that woman is kidding half the time.

[I will relay more facts when I get them. Munich out.]

[Marine Deck]

Kara heard there was a new Marine on board. Since Kayhill was on the away team, she decided it would be a good time to say hi.

Johnathan has busied himself in the armory, making sure that the weapons needed for each platoon were present and accounted for; along with making sure the logs had been updated correctly. He’d found a few very minor problems, the wrong rifle being handed out was the worst of it; but when he checked for the correct weapon they had been corrected before he’d even caught sight. Standing up, after kneeling and checking serial numbers and long books, his back sounded like a burst weapon firing as he stretched backwards. Putting the padd down he stepped out of the armory to lock it up.

“Lieutenant,” he said as he palmed the sensor to lock the door to the armory. “What can I do for you today?”

"Nothing," she replied. "I wanted to say hi and welcome you to the Calypso."

“Lieutenant Askard,” Johnathan said holding out his hand. “And you are?”

She shook his hand. "Kara. Kara Melo. Alpha Platoon Leader."

“Good to meet you Lieutenant Melo,” Johnathan said with a smile. “How have operations been going since you’ve been aboard?” Looking down both ends of the hall his face suddenly became confused. “Now where did I leave my office?”

"Going well," she replied. Then she smiled. "Care for an escort? It's a large deck."

“Sure, since I don’t have an absolute clue on where I’m the hell I am right now.”

Kara chuckled. "You'll get used to it soon enough." She nodded in the direction they were heading. "This way. Once you know where the turbolifts and the ramp to the flight deck are, you'll be fine."

She led him down several corridors and stopped in front of a door. "This is your office. The major's is down the corridor."

"Thank you Lieutenant," he said smiling. "Let me make sure there's nothing on my screen then can you show me to the bridge?"

"Of course." Kara smiled. "Anything you need."

She waited for him to come back into the corridor, then showed him the ramp to the shuttle bay as she took the long way to the turbolift to the bridge.
