Food for the Gods
Location: Planetside

When it was time, Sam nodded. "When we get to the planet, be discrete. We'll go to the pyramid, where we'll be met by Lieutenant Miri. Once we're inside, we'll have a look around and then decide how best to proceed."
John nodded and after the Commodore got on the transporter pad, he got on the one to her right and put his hand on his weapon and made sure it was loose and ready to pull should they come into a bad scene.
They beamed into a copse of trees a short distance from the town. It was dark, which helped hide the team as they made their way into the town and to the pyramid. After the festivities earlier in the day, the streets were quiet.
A figure stepped out of the shadows. "Glad you could make it," a female said. "This way."
Sam nodded. She was careful not to say anything just yet as sounds traveled farther at night.
Jayna led them around to a small opening in the pyramid. It was slightly ajar and opened easily to her touch. She indicated that they should precede her.
The doctor kept a close distance with the group and followed their lead.
Aenar took up a position to the rear of the group, wanting to stay out of the way.
John proceeded to the right of the Commodore, just a half step behind so he could protect her if need be, but not be a nuisance about it.
For all her bustles and layers of dress, Spartacus moved as though it were second nature; smoothly she almost glide like a Native Born Lady of Status. Looking about she followed but had no hinderences in her steps. The dress was tailored and her practiced in wearing this style.
"History of Human fashion programs finally paying off." She complemented her enjoying wearing fashions from all eras.
"The style and the tan suit you," Sam said to Teenah, knowing she would only appreciate one of the comments.
She walked into the pyramid ahead of Jayna and looked around. "How were Shan and Ronnie dressed?"
"Some sort of robes," Jayna replied. "I think they went down the slide over here." She took them over to where the slide began. "From scans, it goes down nearly five clicks."
"That's a long ride," Sam said, carefully looking around. There was a simple drawing of crates of food going down a chute on the wall by the slide. Another drawing showed someone sitting down on the slide. It looked like a woman. "Why these drawings and not a pictures?" she asked.
"No idea," Jayna said. "All we know for sure is they went down here after the food was sent down, and there's a machine down there that has some connection to the one in the pyramid."
Sam walked around again, looking at everything to see if she could learn more.
Thy'las would have loved to go down the chute and go to work, but that would cause too many problems, and Damion wouldn't want that. She was there to do her job, be an asset, and ensure the crews safe return. She kept pace with the crew, keeping close to the Major and Captain, keeping her ears and eyes opened.
She looked to the Major and smiled slightly. "Major Kayhill, right?" She asked softly. "Thy'las." She extended her hand. "Intel... Now, Acting Security I guess."
John nodded, shook her hand, and quietly said, "A pleasure to meet you."
Thy'las reached behind her back, slipping two fingers into the back of her corset, before removing a handle from a hidden holster. "Damion wanted me to make sure you were aware I had this on me. Retractable sword. He assure me he didn't want me to use it, but he didn't want me going without it."
"I hope it won't be necessary," Sam said, "But it's good to know you have that, just in case."
Sam went to the entrance of the pyramid. Once she was sure there was no one around, she tapped her combadge. "York to Calypso. Beam three transporter buffers to my location. We'll need them if we want to get back up. It looks like a long slide down to our destination."
When they materialized, she brought them inside so the door could close. "We'll take these with us and hide them at the bottom of the slide."
Aenar motioned to the Commodore, 'pass one over and I'll bring it down with me.'
Sam nodded and handed one to Aenar.
"I'd like to go down first Commodore, just in case there are any unexpected spectators at the bottom", John said.
"I'll join you." Thy'las said, stepping forward, looking to John before looking over to York. "The three of us will go down, clear the area, and signal when it's safe." She said before looking back to John. "If that's okay with you."
The doctor set his bag down to relieve the weight from his shoulder. "I assume to stay up here with...?" He wondered who he was going to be with. This was his first away mission with the Calypso crewmembers, which means new names to remember.
"No, you may be needed with us", Sam said to the doctor.
The doctor nodded, letting his shoulder rest for a couple of minutes before picking up the bag of medical supplies.
Sam wanted to go with them, but didn't think it was worth the argument. So she nodded to John, Aenar and Thy'las. "We can go in groups. But I'm not sure how you'll be able to report back at the present time. So I suggest we come down ten minutes after you."
"It is proper lady etiquette to be fashionably late." Spartacus said as she kept close to Samantha.
Sam chuckled. "Something like that." she turned to Dwight. "You'll be with us."
"Yes, ma'am," the doctor replied.
John nodded and said, "Yes, ma'am."
He didn't waste any time and headed for the slide to go down. He activated the flashlight on his wrist and went in first, it was going to be an interesting ride.
