Mission: Pulling Together

=^= Munich to Engineering. =^= The strong German accesnt in the voice. =^= If Ve do not have warp power in two hours I hope tyou have us full weapons array and shields as there are Several ;possibly hostile, vessels on an intercept course. =^= He explained. =^= You get us moving and I will worry about da rudder.=^= He emphasized. =^-= We need warp power right quick or those who wanted us out here will come with their next phase of planning.=^=
"Uhmmm," Annie's hesitant voice extended the word as she glanced at the chaotic beehive behind her. "Two hours is... not possible, sir. We've replicated new manifolds, but we still need to get into the mechanics and-" She suddenly paused, realizing she was rambling to the XO. She bit her lip and closed her eyes a moment, quietly panicking.
[NEW]
A hand rested on her shoulder and she turned to see Ensign Murphy smiling reassuringly to her. He nodded and ducked back into the fray, busy with the repairs. Annie took a deep breath and thought about their options. Then, "Sir, MARA power will be down for at least a day. We can repair the fusion system in an hour or so, which will give us impulse power. I can't give you enough to fire phasers, but torpedoes will work. And the shields won't be up until the core comes online." Annie's heart still raced in panic, hoping against hope she didn't just get herself fired on her first day as Acting Chief Engineer.
"Make sure the Torpedo tubes are functional and get me the shields up and running before they arrive or you might not need to worry about warp power as there might not be a ship left." Munich stated.
Annie swallowed and her voice rose half an octave. "Y- Yes sir." Her left arm waved frantically, assigning one of her engineers to go inspect the torpedo system and ensure they were online once the fusion system was fixed. She had no idea how she'd get shields with no EPS power. She bit her lip and looked around in panic.
"Navigational deflector," someone said.
"What?" Annie's head snapped around to see PO Lanum, the half-Trill half-Klingon lugging one of the replicated manifolds by hand rather than using a grav sled. Apparently all of the readily available units were being used.
"Navigational deflector. It already deflects relativistic particles, and runs off the fusion system."
Annie's eyes brightened. If she rerouted power and boosted the navigational deflector, it should stop weapons fire. It wouldn't be near as strong as the main shields, and it would only work directly in front, but it would be something.
Suddenly remembering Munich was still on the line, she meeped and said, "We- have an idea sir. Engineering out."
Munich had faith in the crew; he would look into more pressing matters while the Engineers worked diligently
-Launch Bay-
Leroy was still out of uniform but wasn’t going to be bothered with that. And of course he’d given his entire flight staff the time off they’d needed. Why would he think anything could or would go wrong on the Calypso. -^- Mangalia to who ever happens to be in charge. We have one fighter possible for launch. See what I can do to keep these signals off of us.-^- Not waiting for the reply he jumped into the cockpit of his Scorpion fighter, put his helmet on and started the launch sequence. -^-Fighters to Engineering, how long do you need before we have engines, weapons, and shields?-^-
Annie meeped at the call, trying to remain focused on the task at hand. At least it wasn't the XO this time. "As long as possible?" she answered Leroy. "Impulse engines and torpedoes will be online within the hour... but shields and warp power? Maybe tomorrow?" Truth be told, the repairs should take the better part of a week... but having the entire Engineering staff of a Galaxy-class starship working 24/7 would get it done sooner.
Leroy groaned and pulled the fighter off the deck. "Copy that Engineering. Targetting is on right?" Signalling for the doors to open, Leroy waited for the order to launch from who ever was in command. "Leroy to command, ready when you are."
Bojay all but burst through the doors in his FLight suit with the helmet in hand , running towards his fighter , scampering up the ladder and into the cockpit, strapping himself into the chair and putting his helmet on while he had the system starting up and while it boot up.
"Bojay here, ready for launch instructions."
Wedge was just clearing the ladder as hehad entered while Bojay boot the system. His own start up was in proces as he put his helmet on.
"Wedge fired up and ready for flight." He announced.
Phoenix climbed into her fighter and began her pre-launch check.
Puma came in a moment later.
Both waited for the order to launch.
=^= Flight Leader you are to hold flight until a new payload is prepped. =^= Munich called over the system. =^= I hav plan for dem, it will take ten minutes to make arrangements and deliver payload to you, please stand by. =^=
A moment later, the acknowledgement came over the comms.
"Hey, Boss, do you want us to launch and fly cover so you can deliver the payload?"
Before Leroy could respond, the package came into the fighter bay carried by two non-coms and quickly attached to Leroy's ship. When they were safely out of the bay, the word came for the ships to launch.
At Leroy's order, the fighters left the Calypso in pairs and quickly spread out to engage the enemy.
