Captain's Log. Stardate 66578.9

Queen Kalikana and Prince Orvack, as the Jenefrans insist on calling him, have made great inroads into reestablishing communications between their two people. Keelan's flight aboard a Ferengi ship did a lot to convince the High Council that he was, indeed, the mastermind behind the war with the Qunari and the murder of King Mroweth. They not only anointed Kali Queen, they have formally asked the Qunari for forgiveness and have sent supplies to help rebuild the villages.

I would like to return in a year to see how things have progressed and hopefully again talk to them about joining the Federation, this time as a united planet.

As for Keelan, word has been sent to all Starships and all governments in the Federation that he is wanted for the murder of King Mrowen, the attempted murder of Queen Kalikana and the attempted genocide of the Qunari people. Although he may be mistaken as another felinoid species, a scan will show him to be Jenefran and will thus help track him down--if there is a question. There's always a chance he will slip into obscurity, but I personally do not believe he will be content to stay there.

Starfleet Command believes that he has escaped to Ferengi territory where he will have trouble being accepted if he can no longer be of use to them.

Jennifer Tate is in critical condition after attempting to kill herself. When she accepted the assignment to stay on Jenefra for a day and coordinate the investigation on the ground, no one thought she would be so easily persuaded to believe that we abandoned her and her only friend was the Vizier, Keelan. Once she is stable, the Vances will take her to a facility where she can receive the medical and psychological treatment she needs. I doubt the will ever be allowed to do field work again, but it is hoped that, in time, she will be able to do some sort of analysis work.

Overall, the crew performed well. They found the evidence to prove that Tate was framed, they found Princess Kali and they were able to stop the genocide of the Qunari.

We've set a course to rendezvous with the USS Benecia to pick up Lieutenant Alexandra Alves, our new Chief Medical Officer. Doctor Drani had a family emergency and she and her sister, Jae, were recalled to Earth. After that, we'll head to a planetary starbase for some much-needed shore leave. There’s been little time for recreation of late and I look forward to exploring a cave with Damon.
