Leroy was still listening to the briefing as he was given landing coordinates on Earth for his brief stay as a recruiter. He didn't know why that was something that came his way, but it was something that he wasn't going to pass up. Checking his cargo manifest as he allowed the auto pilot to safely guide him into orbit, then a landing pad just a few minutes later, he logged out of the briefing and grabbed his gear. Hitting a key fob, his cockpit closed, then locked. It was something he did no matter what, since he didn't want a cadet grabbing his bird. It was loaded for bear, and as an older 'Scorpion' class, it was highly dangerous.
Taking off his helmet, he replaced it with a cap that was never used, and didn't have the well worn features that other Marines he passed had. It didn't bother him in the least, and was something that he didn't think would be looked down upon.
"Lieutenant Mangalia, this way if you please," a Sergeant said rushing up to Leroy. Nodding, he turned with the Sergeant, and began to calmly look around. There was nothing like being back on Earth, and it was something that he would take time to enjoy if it came to that. If not, it felt good not to be in reprocessed air, and eating replicated foods. Making a mental list, he smiled. They had alcohol here, and he wondered if getting the Commodore some would be smiled upon.
"Your place is already set up, and the building that you will be meeting with recruits and potential recruits for the next twenty days is on the ground floor. There's nothing that you will need for that time, including uniforms. The Corps has already taken care of that. If you would like, I can have one of my men stow your bag in your ship."
"No Sergeant," Leroy said looking over with a kind smile. "There are some things that a Marine needs on him no matter what the Corps supplies. You ever been on a boat?"
"No Sir, I've been lucky enough to have this posting since I enlisted."
"You wouldn't understand Sergeant. When you're out there, sometimes the things you collect are more valuable than the things that you are issued." The Sergeant nodded thoughtfully, and pressed the button for the elevator to take them up.
"we just passed your office for the next twenty days in your rotation. You will have certain days off, and of course there is also the possibility of extending that a day or two. I looked up your leave accumulation, and you have quite a bit of it."
"We're always on the move, so work just kind of takes over," Leroy said. "You get time to enjoy yourselves, but I run a tight crew, and that's something that has helped more times than I can count." Looking at the floor listing, he took note of it, and then his room number about 45 seconds later.
"If you need anything Lieutenant, please don't hesitate to ask. I'll be in the office all day, and the Corps expects you at PT at 0600 local time, and in the office by nine."
"Alright Sergeant. If I don't decide to look at my desk tonight, I'll see you in the Morning."
