Mission:
Shadow Dance
Location: Damion & Ronnie's Quarters
ON:
As Ronnie entered the dimly lit room she heard the soft music playing. The quarters were still decorated the way she left it, but in the middle of the living room area was a baby's crib with a bow and a card attached to it. Written on the envelope was Ronnie + 1.
Ronnie walked slowly up to the crib and ran her hands along the side, smiling. It was absolutely perfect. She picked up the card and read it.
The card itself was all black with the words Merry Christmas written in silver on the cover. Inside was written the message. "To my family. I love you both with all that I have. May this be the first of many holidays we spent together and the first of many happy memories. Love always. Dad."
Tears came to her eyes and she brushed them away and turned to find Damion. He had to be here somewhere.
"I hope the party was fun." Damion replied from the doorway to the kitchen. He leaned against the frame, two glasses in hand, as he continued. "Did I miss much?"
She walked slowly towards him and kissed him, careful not to bump the glasses. "It wasn't the same without you," she said softly. "I only went because of Sam." She stepped back and smiled. "The crib is wonderful. Almost as wonderful as you are."
Damion smiled back as he whispered. "I tried. Got some ideas from my mom and dad, but I couldn't help but put my own personal touches on it." He held out one of the glasses toward her and continued. "Here. It's non-alcoholic so nothing to worry the Doctor over."
She took the glass and leaned against him. "I love your personal touches."
"That's not all." He chuckled slightly as he walked over to the living room table and placed his glass down on it. "It would seem, our baby has more gifts under the tree than we do." Damion smirked as he looked back to Ronnie. "Like this... from Tallas." He walked over to the tree and pulled out from behind it a large stuffed Andorian Polar Bear. He couldn't help but laugh as he showed Ronnie than paused. "Oh, but check this out." Damion gave it a slight squeeze at the stuff animal let out a belch. He squeezed it again, only for the sound to change from a belch to a fart. Damion chuckled again. "Only Tallas. And she said not to worry that she programmed several different varieties of belches and farts so the baby wont get bored."
Ronnie shook her head, but smiling. "Leave it to her to have it make bodily noises." She took the bear and gave it a hug, eliciting several noises. "At least it's soft and cuddly." She looked up at Damion and grinned wickedly.
Damion smirked before reached down and pulling out a small wooden box under the tree. "And from her mom, Thy'las. We have..." He paused in mid-sentence as he opened the wooden box to reveal an Andorian knife. ".. Baby's First Combat Knife." He let out a chuckle as he shook his head. "Got to be honest, I am not surprised."
Ronnie looked it over, running a finger along the blade. "Nice, but that will stay locked away until the baby is old enough to know how to use it safely."
"Oh and she was nice enough to give Mommy and Daddy something, but with specific instructions." Damion removed a bottle of Andorian Brandy from under the tree and showed it to Ronnie. "Not to be opened until after the baby is born. I already checked. It's a good year, too. My favorite."
"We could ask Lizzie to babysit for a night," she said. "And have a proper celebration." She walked into the bedroom and returned a moment later with a small box. She handed it to Damion. "For you." Inside was a black bar, about six inches in length, with four tiny indentations near one end.
Damion smiled as he took the box. He looked over to Ronnie and gave her a quick kiss on her lips before opening the box. His eyes widened slightly. "Babe? What did you do?"
"Called in a few favors," she said, grinning. "Thought you might like to carry this around from time to time."
"Would you hate me if I asked you what it is?" Damion looked to her with a smirk.
Ronnie's smile broadened. "Not at all." She picked up the small stick and pushed a button. It extended into a 6' staff. Then she hit another button and it collapsed again. "it also has a stun setting, an echo-location feature that works on land and under water, a taser setting, and a locator. Basically, it's just a cool little toy."
Damion let out a soft laugh before placing his hands on the side of Ronnie's face and giving her a deep passionate kiss. Soon, he pulled away, still smiling as he opened his eyes and looking her eyes. "You are... so perfect."
Ronnie grinned. "No, I just know the man I love."
Damion smirked as he gave her another quick kiss on the lips. "Let's see if I know my woman." He gave a quick chuckle before tapping his combadge. "Computer: Initiate Program: Covert Christmas."
The computer chimed in response as a two gifts was suddenly transported onto the table by the Christmas Tree. One was a bit big and the other was small square box which lay onto top of the bigger one.
"Let it not be said that site to site transporters can't be handy curing the holidays." He gave a slight smirk before moving the small box off the big box and picking up the big box. Damion than turned to face Ronnie and held out the gift. "Merry Christmas."
Ronnie was more interested in the small box, but she took the big one and opened it.
Inside the box was a picture frame, but it wasn't like other picture frames. It was digital and the first picture she saw was one of her and her family when she was younger. "I know it seems ordinary, but when is something from me ordinary?" He said softly as he tapped a small button on the screen which brought up a side menu. In the menu she could access other photos from her past, add new photos, select from a variety of music, and there was even a menu for videos. Damion tapped on the videos button and then quickly selected a random video. It began to play a home video of when Ronnie was younger with her mother and father. As the video played, he spoke softly over it. "It took some convincing, but eventually your brothers were willing to part with some of your families home videos. I also had a good friend hunt down a few pictures and movies that they thought they lost along the years." He paused slightly as he whispered softly into her ear. "I have very good friends who are very good at what they do."
