Mission: Shadow Dance
Location: Ronnie Lancaster's Quarters

ON

Ronnie walked into her quarters and stopped, her arms wrapped tightly around her stomach. She hadn't been back since she was attacked by the hologram two -- or was it three? -- weeks ago.

Everything looked the same, but it felt strange being here after staying with Damion. She had to decide what to do. Did she come back here and continue the two-quarters relationship, or did she just stay with Damion? She was pretty sure he wouldn't mind, but he hadn't asked, and that made her feel a little uncomfortable about simply moving her stuff into his quarters. Sure, they were having a baby, but her morning sickness was getting really annoying and she didn't want to inflict that on anyone but herself. If she moved back here, it would give her a place to hide out when she felt too sick to move -- and let her work from her quarters.

She slowly walked around the living area, looking at the possessions she'd gathered over the years. They really wouldn't fit in his place. They might fit in family quarters, but that wasn't currently an option. At least, she didn't think it was. They weren't a family.

She continued to walk around, thinking.

Damion soon walked in. He managed to arrange the duty assignments so it would give him some time to spend with Ronnie. One of the benefits of being Chief. As he walked in he looked around and immediately felt an uneasiness in the room. Quietly and slowly, he walked further in, looking for Ronnie while still replaying the events that happened here. As he saw her he paused in place and waited quietly before speaking up softly. "How you feeling?"

Ronnie turned and looked blank for a moment, then shook her head. "It's...strange."

"Believe me. I know the feeling." Damion replied softly. "I felt the same way on the Nightstar then entire time we were there."

Ronnie went over to Damion and hugged him. "I'm sorry."

Damion let out a soft and quick laugh. "Why? You have nothing to be sorry for." He said softly as he pulled her back to look at her after giving her a loving embrace. "You did nothing wrong, Ronnie. That program was sent after you because Vance's old man couldn't finish off his own demons. It's because of him other people are paying for his mistakes. If anyone is to be blamed here, its him. Not you."

She shook her head while it was still buried against Damion's chest. "Not that. I'm more angry about that than anything. I'm sorry you had to go back to the Nightstar."

"It was my choice. I wouldn't let Max put anyone else on that assignment but me." Damion saod softly. "I probably burned some bridges because of it. Bridges I might never be able to get back up. The point is, it was my unfinished business. My demon to slay. Besides, I made a promise I had to keep to someone I consider family and I would never break a promise like that. I am sorry you had to go there. Meeting Stryfe. Seeing my dark past. Meeting Thy'las and learning about our history. It must have taken its toll on you too. Believe me. I was never planning on keeping any of that from you, I just wanted to make sure it was completely behind me and finished before revealing it all. I would never keep you in the dark unless there was no other alternative."

She put a hand on his cheek. "Don't ever keep me in the dark. I would rather go there with you than stay behind and worry. Besides, I like to think I was some help, even if it was only to keep you sane."

"Believe me. Keeping me sane is a lot of help." Damion replied softly with a smile. "I don't want to ever put you in that position again. So... I decided."

Ronnie couldn't help the feeling of panic at his words. "Decided what?"

"I decided that I am going to move you, and by association our unborn child, into my quarters. I can rearrange stuff so that you can move anything you need and move all my classified files to an area that is not easily accessible via the desktop. I know, not so classified if all you have to do is click on it. But what do you want, it was just me in there and a whole lot of weapons. Who was gonna try anything? Honestly?" Damion gave Ronnie a bit of a smirk before clearing his throat a bit and adding. "I also debated on utilizing a personal escort for you, but my better judgment ruled against it. It was a long and drawn out debate that almost started a international incident. Be thankful for patience and whiskey."

"No personal escort and no whisky," she teased. "Unless you are doing the personal escorting."

"Got it." Damion replied with a smirk. "So, gather whatever you want to bring with you."

"Actually, I want to bring everything," she told him, her voice a little hesitant. "Will we have room?"

Damion chuckled softly and brought her close as he kissed her on her forehead. "We'll make the room."

Ronnie hugged him. "We could always talk to the Quartermaster and get something larger, if you want."

"That's an idea too." Damion smiled as he held her close. "As long as we're in the same set of quarters."

"It'll give me more room, and it'll free up these quarters for someone else." She shuddered at the thought. She still saw the hologram Li Kara created lurking in the corners. "I won't miss them much."

She hugged Damion tighter. "Let's go talk to the Quartermaster so I can move out today."

"Alright. Let's go then." Damion said happily as he took her hand in his.

Ronnie didn't look back as the two of them walked out the door.
