Mission: Shadow Dance

ON

"Harry" was back home, and the Calypso was finally approaching Jenefran space. Even though it had only been a couple of days, Sam felt it necessary to call another briefing. This time, it was to go over details about their upcoming arrival and the care they would have to take to not let anyone know of their true purpose.

She once again chose a morning meeting and set out muffins, breakfast rolls, fruit, juice, pastries, assorted drinks, and waited for her senior staff to arrive.

Illise entered the briefing room, already carrying a large cup of Raktajino. With 'Harry' gone she had finally been able to get some sleep, but even still she was tired. The strong Klingon coffee was delightful, and well worth the detour to ten forward for the real thing.

"Good morning Commodore." Illise greeted Sam and quickly tried to stifle a yawn by taking a sip of her drink.

"Good morning. You look better. I hope you've managed to sleep," Sam said.

"A reasonable amount." Illise smirked. "Although I think I'll have a few earlier nights if I can manage it."

Leroy entered next, looking inside, then both ways back outside just bending his back. "Did Talia show yet?" He asked before taking a seat. He was in mostly civilian clothing this time, with a padded that held his travel itinerary. "I'm almost fully prepped for departure, just please don't replace me."

"Not yet," Sam said. "But the meeting won't start for several minutes yet." She smiled. "I have no desire to replace you. I just hope they don't decide to keep you."

Arnon arrived at the meeting. He wondered if his son would be there. Probably only if Captain Bourne couldn't make it. In Arnon's hand was a travel mug full of freshly brewed French Roast coffee. There had been a Starbucks on the station they'd last visited so he'd picked some up. He chose a seat and saved one next to him for Victoria. He'd left a little early to check on a patient who was suffering from acute depression and had spent the night in Sick Bay being observed. He was surprised he'd beat Victoria to the briefing, but not upset. Victoria was a department head and an extremely competent professional with a life of her own. One of the reasons their relationship worked was that they respected each other both personally and professionally. Arnon was just happy that she shared her life with him.

"Hello, Lieutenant Barak," Sam said, nodding to Arnon.

T'Pral walked in and immediately made her way to the first available seat. Her eyes twitched to the smorgasbord and an eyebrow rose imperceptibly. She had already had her breakfast hours ago. To her, it was important for an officer to be ready for the duty day as soon as it began. She didn't know anyone yet, so she simply sat smartly with her hands neatly folded before her on the table.

"Welcome, Lieutenant T'Pral," Sam said politely.

Damon arrived at the briefing wearing his Marine fatigues, as what seemed to be the custom of late. Having just returned hours ago from an extended tour aboard the USS Toronto, the fatigues fit snug and comfortable as they once had in the past. Due to the somewhat ambiguous nature of his current assignment, his choice of uniform today was more a matter of comfort rather than position.

He made his way over to the treat table and picked out an apple over the abundance of pastries and breads. He was recently reminded of the PT Marines went through as a daily routine and decided that a few less treats in his life wouldn't be a bad idea.

Walking past Samantha, he simply nodded at her. "Commodore." He greeted. He added a sly wink.

He took up his usual station at the far end of the room and leaned up against the wall.

"Glad you could make it, Colonel," she replied to Damon, pleased that he had time for the briefing. She could definitely use his insight on this assignmnet.

Victoria entered, wearing her duty uniform and medical coat with a cup of Jestral Tea in hand. "Good morning, commodore, everyone," she greeted as she took a seat and looked at T'Pral. So this was the new Chief Engineer she heard of. She would have to remind her to get to sickbay for a physical. She never understood why people were apprehensive of doctors. It wasn't like she was chasing people all over the ship with a giant needle, stabbing them in the ass with it.

"Good morning, Doctor Drani," Sam replied.

Mara stepped into the briefing room. Majority of staff was already there. She nodded in greeting to everyone in the room. "Good morning." She said as she approached an empty seat and sat down. She got comfortable in her chair then looked down at the PADD that she had brought in with her.

Sam nodded a greeting to Mara.

After a moment's consideration of the food Sam had put out, Illise chose a banana and a bran muffin. She's had a bowl of oatmeal an hour ago before going to the gym earlier in the morning. It had been a good workout. Now she felt a little hungry again, certainly enough at least that the assortment on the table looked too good to pass up.

Illise then took a seat nearest T'Pral, nodding to the new Chief Engineer in greeting.

Phoenix walked into the room, feeling like a fish out of water. She noticed the food laid out and took a blueberry muffin and some fruit. She nodded to Leroy as she took a seat at the back of the room.

"Welcome to your duties wile I'm gone," Leroy said with a smile. "Did you get the rotation I sent?"

"Gee, thanks," she said, grinning briefly. "Yes, I got the rotation schedule. I'll be sending it out after the briefing, just in case I have to add anything to it," she said.
