[OLD]
Frenatus looked at her for several moments. She could feel him prodding at the corners of her mind and she let him see what he wanted: respect, admiration and a touch of awe for the lizard. Clearly pleased, he smiled. "Perhaps, but I must ask you a few questions first..."
"Ask away," Sam said, using his own generator to block her innermost thoughts.

[Temple Reception Area]
Sam was escorted into a large chamber with a dais at the far end. On the dais stood a throne and on the throne sat Frenatus. He signaled for the Acolyte to bring Samantha closer. When she stopped before him he asked, "Why do you wish to see me? I will not release your two spies."
"I came because I'm impressed with what you've done here on Gekkaro. Your organization and leadership skills are impressive. I wish to learn from you and to help you in your endeavours."

{Holding Area}
Spartacus was concentrating as she moved along the wall; her eyes closed while she moved slowly away from the door on the right side of it; the door was supposed to be the ultimate security measure for two women. It was a sad thing to say the least; the door swung outward which could be to her advantage.
Spartacus was taught most of her emphatic skills by a Romulan and a rogue Vulcan; yeah there are bad apples everywhere in the galaxy, so she had the 'tricks' of the Vulcan mental discipline to a degree. The Mind Meld is a good example, the Romulans have a version and they are more apt to use it and to a depth that Vulcan might call 'overly damaging' when they interrogate. Spartacus did not go to that level, but the mind meld through a wall is easier for a Betazoid than a Vulcan limited by the touch telepathy. There are cases where Vulcans have done this through walls in the past, not often, but enough to allow Spartacus to get to the mind of the guard. Concentrating she focus her telepathy.
"My mind to your mind... your mind to mine..." She spoke softly as she was setting things up for a hasty exit should the need arise.
Illise watched Teenah with great curiosity, but bit back her questions since telepathy required a great deal of concentration. Instead she moved to stand near the door, ready if Teenah managed to accomplish a connection with someone outside and get them to open the door.
"Is it my turn to ask what you're up to?" Sam's voice said in Teenah's mind. There was more than a hint of humor in her tone.
* You know we Orions, always trolling for men to do our bidding. * Spartacus replied.
Sam almost laughed out loud at that, but it was not the right time. "Just make sure he's safe," she teased, getting a good idea of what Teenah was up to.
Spartacus was progressed with her simple 'request' to the gentleman on the other side; just unlock the door and stand where he was before and continue guarding. and waited for the soft click of the door a moment later before she let out a breath and took her hands off the wall turning to face her partner.
"That was taxing in a way I don't often exercise." She said to Hale while rubbing her temples. "Kicking the door open will be easier now." She smiled weakly. "Never vacation I need to go to Betazed and get some more training."
"That was impressive." Illise complemented Spartacus. Seeing how tired the effort had made her, she placed one hand on her shoulder and gently moved her back a little more from the door. "Now it's my turn."
Illise stepped in front of the door, drew a deep breath and kicked it as hard as she could. The latch cracked and the door swung violently open. Illise regretted the amount of noise it made, but she needed the surprise. Not waiting, she lunged through the now open door and looked left to find the guard Spartacus has just 'convinced' to unlock it. He had his hand on his sword, with the weapon half-drawn.
Illise immediately slammed his head against the wall and he crumpled into a heap at her feet. A second man ran into the room from an opening off to the right. He stopped when he saw her standing over his comrade and then drew his sword. Illise bent down and drew the unconscious guard's sword, then stepped away from him gain some space to move.
"Come on." she growled, goading him. The second guard lunged at her, swinging his sword at her head. She parried and pushed him back, making a cut of her own towards his mid-section. Illise noticed that he seemed unsure, obviously caught off guard by a woman's skill with a sword. She quickly pressed this advantage, and a short fight ensued.
Eventually Illise turned his blade a little too late, and received a cut on her left arm. It was painful but not very deep. Ignoring it, she immediately returned with a feint at her opponent's head, which he fell for, giving her the opening she needed. She kicked the inside of his knee while he was momentarily off balance, then turned and cracked him on the side of the head with the butt of her sword as he fell sideways. He slummed and lay still on the floor, but he was still breathing.
Spartacus shook her head and thought loudly before she stopped herself. * WHy do I end up with the violent ones? *
