Mission: Of Gods and Men
Location: Solitary Room

Spartacus sat on her bed with a pillow propped up to allow her to comfortably sit with her back on the wall. She stare ahead of her while allowing the auras floating about sink in. Periodically she would close her eyes for a fewe second and curse her bad diplomatic skills for getting the Lizard so mad. She ran the conversation over in her head.

"I am sorry Hale." Spartacus said with a sigh. "I should not have let him push my buttons; he demeaning the Federation for what a crime that he is blatantly doing himself and ..." She put her fist upon the bed frame and there was alight crack to it. "HE was angry when we arrived." SHe said. "His aura had dark colors; he already made judgement and no matter what I tried he was not going to accept us I don' think." She sigh again. "Maybe next time you do the talking and I will do what I do best; sit there and look pretty and do not speak?"

Illise sat on the edge of her bed, absently toying with the corner of her blanket. "If what you say is true and he had already made up his mind before we arrived, then I'm not sure I could of done any better." Illise gave the other woman a smile, but her mind was distracted going over the conversation. "He's quite obviously has a grievance against the Federation. There probably isn't anything that we could say to him that would make him see us favorably."

"What do you think about more of a passive manner, maybe even try to be the perfect intel officers?" Spartacus started. "We might take an attitude of being passive and curious about what great plans he has for the planet?" She looked up. "We do want to know so it will be the truth; now we play nice girls and ask if we can see the 'Great God of the Planet' again and I hold my temper..." She chuckled. "I get the feeling he wants to brag about how much good he will do for these people. If we let men talk we might be able to figure him out?"

Illise thought for a moment. "That might have some merit." she said. "If we can get him to brag about haw he has helped this people; how he has brought them so many 'blessings', then perhaps he may divulge some information that we can use. But no one gets the power that he has without being incredibly intelligent, and not a little malevolent." She though about how quickly Frenatus had been to accuse them. "He'll never believe that we want to help him. Most 'gods' are jealous for the affection and loyalty of their people. We'll have to tread very carefully here. If he sees us as a threat...there may be a clause in this religion that will allow him to have us executed - for the greater good, of course."

"There is that but I doubt it." Spartacus said as she moved over to sit beside Hale and not have to talk so loudly. "He could have helped them in so many ways without calling attention to himself." Spartacus began. "He wants to be a God... why?" Spartacus smiled. "Men; as a general Rule, have egos and this guy is no exception. There is an old interrogation game where one is the 'good and the other is bad." Spartacus smiled. "We know I am the bad one so that left you to be the good one. So you play that, you can be the one more open to his ideas and try to get me to go along that he IS good for these people." She winked. "He gets to pit us against one another in a way and if it comes to worst I spend more time in here and you get to learn his ..." Spartacus her palms together in honor. "Learn of his wondrous grace he showers upon those he protects and nurtures." She winked.

Illise did not even bother to try to keep the doubt she felt from showing on her face, after all Teenah could sense it anyway. It was a good plan though, and she was the choice to play the roll. It's not like it would be the first time she pretended to be complacent with a situation until the time was right.

But there was something nagging at the back of her mind. They were being treated entirely too well. Frenatus hated the Federation, whatever his reasons may be, so why weren't they in a cell instead of a comfortable room with all the freedom to talk to each other and plan their escape...

They were being monitored. They had to be. Any 'god' would want to know everything that was going on so that he could appear omnipotent or all-knowing before both his faithful followers and those who would dare to challenge him. No doubt he had the technology. If he was listening then everything they said to each other in confidence would be seen as the truth, even if it wasn't.

If Frenatus wanted truth and scheming, then they should give it to him.

"Alright." Illise began. "Frenatus already suspects us of being Federation, so we might as well give him confirmation and tell him that you are in Starfleet. I don't think that lying is going to get us anywhere with him. I on the other hand, am not. That alone might engender a little more trust from him." She shrugged, getting into the role. "Perhaps working with the Federation in this endeavor wasn't the best idea. I'll be sure to note it in my report when we get out of here." She paused for dramatic emphasis. "I don't mean any offense, the Federation has been extremely helpful, but as a scientist I am trained to withhold judgement and keep an open mind. The Federation hasn't always been known for that when it comes to other forms of government."

"Use the truth, not all of the truth, as there is less to remember." Spartacus said softly. "I have learned to observe people as well as their auras; between both I am able to get a good sense of things." She smiled. "Frenatus 'wants' us to know he is good, and treating us well means he is open to convincing us. PLus like I said before, those who wish to be worshipped have egos, egos need to be fed and that is by the tell of their greatness." She rolled her eyes. "He is male he wants to show 'we little ole ladies' his great plans and deeds." She shrugged. "We want to know what he is doing so fanning his desire to tell us makes him feel more accomplished and we get the intel we need." Smiling she winked. "Sparta rule: Let men think they are complecated creatures." She giggled.

Spartacus stopped suddenly and her face was impassive, she felt an aura touch hers, it was a familiar one ; the dominance of purple, the regal nature compared to the majority of people of her being, was what gave it away as it was close then moved away.

"Samantha." Spartacus said softly as she kept her attention until it was far out enough to take undue effort to maintain. "Samantha is poking around but she knew we are here but avoided coming." SHe smiled broadly. "Something else of interests so I think we are a little more secure as the Commadore is leaving us here." SHe looked at Hale tapping her temple. "Samantha York and I both have Betazoid heritage, and we know each other well enough to connect so we are in no danger or she would have come to us." She smiled. "I think we stick with the plan, a small safety net was just brought into the game."

Illise was glad to know that the Commodore felt they were safe for now, but she wondered what else of interest she might of found. She nodded to Teenah. "At least we have some communication with them, thank you Teenah. Unfortunately, the plan all hinges on that door - if you'll pardon the pun. We can do nothing while inside this room."

"Never sweat the smaller details." Spartacus winked.
