Mission:
Of Gods and Men
Location: Captain's Ready Room

[OLD]
"The point is that we ARE in this. Morat is not just targeting your daughters, she is going after my crew. For that reason we cannot be kept in the dark. She's not going to walk away just because we don't know what is going on."
[NEW]
"That's the point. She doesn't want you to be kept in the dark. She wants you to hate us just as much as she does. She'll attack your crew, cut your ties, challenge your convictions all so she can prove her point. She was wronged and now the universe has to suffer for it. Everything that's happened so far, it's all telling the story and I'm afraid she hasn't finished writing yet." Jethro replied.
"But all she's succeeding in doing is turning us against HER." Sam replied.
"Morat doesn't care what you think about her. All she wants to to right the wrongs in her mind." Jethro countered.
"She does not have the right to take over my ship and my crew," Sam said. "She found a way past the security protocols and has come on this ship at least once. Intel has increased security."
Sam turned to Arnon. "I don't need to remind you that this information is classified. However, it may help you treat Amarylis."
"Of course," Arnon replied. "I'm cleared to treat Intelligence personnel, and I know when to keep my mouth shut. In fact I once treated an Intel officer who had just returned from a mission to..."
Everyone in the room gave Arnon a funny look.
"Fooled you!" he said with a grin. "Like I said, I know how to keep my mouth shut."
Sam just shook her head and tried not to smile too much at the counselor. "I would rather give my crew the tools they need to be safe than to hide behind regulations." She glanced at Jethro as she said that.
Jethro scoffed crossing his arms over his chest turning himself now towards Sam. "Lines will be crossed Commodore. Morals will be tested and the very fiber of your being will be put on trial. Alexandra crossed the line because she knew Morat would play dirty. The question is Commodore, how dirty are you going to allow your hands to get? Will you simply cry foul? Or will you fight back?"
"You clearly don't know me very well, Mr. Vance," Sam said.
"Then all I can do is wish you luck and offer guidance. Sadly Morat's activity is too sporadic and unpredictable. It's how she's remained free for so long." Jethro replied.
"Then I ask you, as you clearly know more about this that the rest of us, to do what you can to help capture her and stop this," Sam said.
jethro snickered. "If I had the answer to that I wouldn't be here talking with you and my daughter wouldn't be dead."
Sam almost said his daughter wasn't dead, but he saw the same data she did. "Is there anything else you want to bring up?" she asked Jethro.
"Nothing at the moment. Jennifer and I will continue to look deeper into Amarylis' file and the away mission. Perhaps we can find what really happened so Doctor Barak will have a better idea what he is up against."
"Vance to Tate." Jethro stated over his comm. There was no reply for several moments causing Jethro to perk his eyebrow.
"Vance to Tate." he stated again.
"Um..Tate here." Jennifer moaned over the comm as if she had just woken up from a slumber or something...
Jethro nearly blushed as he heard Jennifer's voice. He'd heard that tone before, infact many women shared that same tone with him in his younger years. He wanted to ask the computer Jennifer's location but decided that some things were just best left alone, certain things could not be unseen.
"Could you meet me in the intelligence labs in thirty minutes, I mean if you aren't to busy."
There was another short pause before Jennifer came back on the comm. "Jethro I'm kinda in the middle of a debrief can it wait?" A giggle could be heard following the sentence.
Jethro tried to withhold a smirk but was failing as one snuck in. "Very well Commander. Just remember it's a brief not a novel."
"Well then I might need more then thirty minutes Jethro. Remy here has an awful lots of questions. He's a really curious individual." Jennifer replied nearly bursting out in laughter herself.
Jethro rolled his eyes. "Fine, get back to me when you are done. Vance out."
Sam had covered her face with a hand, not quite sure what to make of this current ... state of affairs. "Well, I think we have enough to go on for now."
"Lieutenant Barak, see if you can get anything from Amarylis. Now that you know about Gul Morat, maybe you can get her to talk about what happened. Keep me informed of your progres."
Then she turned to Jethro. "Thank you for letting us know. Amarylis is still in trouble for going against a direct order when she killed the patrol on Paneria, but that will be dealt with at another time."
"I'll pursue this with Sergeant Beckinsale," Arnon said. "Our sessions remain private unless she becomes a danger to herself or others, but I will see what I can get her to share with you."
"I'm not asking for confidential information, but you can tell me if they're going well and if you're making advancement," Sam said. "Thank you."
She looked from one person to the other. "If that's all, then you are welcome to leave." It WAS her office, and she did have work to do.
