Mission:
Deadly Diplomacy
Location: Sick Bay
ON
Yui walked into the sickbay after being told by the Commodore to get herself sorted out. She was still rather shook up with bruises and scratches. Her hair was still rather messy and the bags under her eyes were obvious from the long hours she had had to pull.
A nurse approached her. "Hello" she said. "Can I help..." then she saw the young womans injuries. "If you take a seat over on the biobed, I'll get a doctor" she said.
Yui wandered over to the closest biobed and sat down. It was rather comfortable, infact it was very comfortable. Before she knew it her fatique had overwhelmed her and she was fast asleep while waiting.
Newmark came out from the back section to see a young woman on a biobed and the way she lay it was a bit obvious she had a bit of a haggared appearance. The uniform had seen better days and the way she lay on the Biobed he did note her body molding to the cushions. He had seen this kind of body adapting to surroundings many times while he was under other operations closer to he front lines.
There are ways to get a body to relax, to bring more harmony to the body's blood flow, the shoulders are a good place to begin, with the patent on her side he gently used the base of her neck as a starting point to increase the blood flow and stimulating the blood to teh brain and pushing the person slowly from an unconscious state by making the blood going to the nrevers spark a little in a strange but not painful way. It did not startle, being his wife is pregnant and a danger to wake without her wanting to... some tricks are worth having.
Yui sat up looked around with dazed tired eyes. Her eyelids were only half open as she looked at Newmark.
"Is there cake?" she asked with a small cute yawn.
"I am sorry but no." Newmark said quietly.
"No cake..." Yui said. "Goodnight...." she yawned as she laid back down and closed her eyes.
Newmark shrugged and just injected her with a mild stimulant to make sure she wakes with not too much of a jump. "Now then Yui; I can call you that right? I am Doctor Newmark and I thought you might like ot get healed before you sleep so you do not wake up more sore?"
"Whoa..." Yui said suddenely awake. "Wait... erm yeah... hi?" she replied. She seemed a little disorientated at the moment. She took a few minutes to come to then looked back at Numark. "I'm in sickbay. Oh yeah I got hurt" she told him.
"I am presuming that you would like me to take care of that?" Newmark took out his tricorder. "Your stature is one that has been; as humans say, raked over some coals." He looked at her. Please remove your jacket, you have some blood signs I need to check."
Yui unzipped the grey and black tunic and took it off. It was evident from her red undershirt that her wounds were worse than she had first presumed. There was a lot of what looked like dried on blood on the left hand side of her stomach.
"Oh, so thats why that hurt so much" she said.
"It is something that we could approach from two directions, either I can give you some hypo to ease the pain or the old method of acupuncture and pressure point?" He winked while getting the hypo of anesthetic "to allow me to scan it better and look into patching it?"
Yui wasn't really listening. She was too busy rolling up the shirt so she could see just how bad she was. She was slightly suprised to find a rather deep gash in her side. It wasn't too pretty looking.
"This is going to take a little bit of work isn't is?" she asked curiously.
"I have seen worst Yui; I can call you that right?" HE put his hands upon her side near the wound with a feather light touch, the twelve fingers and his eyes half closed as though deeper sensations were coming. The three opposing type thumbs in each hand took an esecially warming touch as though connecting to the skin. ""Nothing we cannot handle and..." He opened his eyes to look at her with a wink. "Not leave a mark afterward." He assured.
Yui let out a couple of giggles. "Your hands are ticklish" she said. "So how long will it take until I can sleep?" she asked.
"If you are a good girl I can give you the lollipop and have you out of here in less than half an hour." He removed his hands and gave a tricorder to verify the results. "Should I ask what happened?"He mused. "I love a good story?"
Yui liked the idea of a lollipop. Infact anything sweet was good for her.
"Well I don't know how much I can tell you" she said. "But I was piloting a runabout and was attacked. The rest is kind of a blur...." she explained.
"Just relax on your right side and I can let you relax but I gave you enough stimulant to make a Klingon an insomniac for a bit." He informed her while he reached to the laser scalpel to clean the rougher edge and rid her of some of the damaged skin before resealing it. "You made it so I take it you are a good pilot?"
Yui laid down on her side. "I like to think I am" she yawned as she rested her head on the pillow. She let out another yawn. "I don't think you gave me enough..." she yawned again as she began to relax more.
"If I give you any more your heart might explode." He glanced up as He went back to sealing the dermal layers before chancing the epidermis layer so to leave only the slightest of a hair line scar for the healing process.
Yui just yawned in response. "So, when do you think I can go back on duty? I have just been transfered here now as the head of Flight Ops" she explained.
"After this I will do your evaluation afterward; have you rest and then I can think about letting you fly." Newmark was completing the upper layers of the repair. "Cannot have you falling asleep at the wheel you know?"
"I've never fallen asleep at the helm... wait. There was one time on a night shift when I was an ensign..." Yui replied. "So I'mm off duty until you say so?" she asked.
"With the wounds you have and the flight hours you have logged prior to arrival.. let us say that there are timetables I have to follow and you need to have some down time." He ran a soft touch along his work. "But the major stuff is patched and get the abrasions cleaned up so you can officially start racking time off to compensate."
Yui sat up again and ran a hand over her side. It was nicely patched up now.
"The first thing I'm going to do when I find my new quarters is eat some cake and sleep" she said with a grin. "I'll get my roster from the First Officer tomorrow"
"Just some minor abrasions in the face..." He moved his fingers to check them. "No real damage to the dermis level so the epidermis is what you call superficial at best." His hand started to grab the dermal regen tool along the wounds making the skin knit together as though nothing had happened. "Just a few more seconds." He told her with a grin.
Yui closed her eyes. The sensation was weird, especially on her face. She opened her eyes to then look directly into his. "So, all done?" she asked.
"Let me check things over Marie Antoinette, just a little bit and you can eat cake." Newmark tried that joking thing. "You better not be seen by the XO before a twenty four hour rest period or I can have you under 'Observation in isolation in a heart beat." Newmark smiled. "I hate it when people don't take a doctor's instructions to heart." He smiled in what some might call an innocent fashion.
"You're a doctor not a first officer? Or am I missing something? Apart from a few braincells as my sister would say..." Yui asked curiously.
"Call me Sawbones and you will be in isolation." He winked while making a last official scan. "Now that things are back to what your medical records show as normal you may go and get that sleep you wanted." He smiled. "Come back any time you need."
Yui gave him a smile. "Arigatou" she said bowing her head slightly. She jumped off the biobed, stumbled a little to get her balance and then wandered out of the door into the corridor.
"Take care of yourself." Newmark greet as he put away his instruments.
