“Sir, would you like some coffee…?” The soft gentle voice asked.

His eyes drifting away from the PADD on which he had been solely focused on since sitting down at the table. He looked up at a human female. She appeared in her earlier 20s, dressed in a short pair of black shorts, a light colored blouse, and a pair of flip flops. Her blonde hair was pulled back in a ponytail, and a friendly smile on her face. He smiled back at her gently placing the PADD on the table in front of him facing down. He nodded. “Yes, the house special please.”

“Great!” She explained. “Anything else?” She gently shifted her weight from one side to the other as she waited for his answer.

He shook his head. “Not right now.”

She nodded. “I will be right back with your coffee then.” She smiled at him one more time before leaving to grab his order. He watched her as she walked away. She was a pleasant sight.

“Isn’t she a little too young for you…?” A female voice asked from behind him.

“Age is only a number.” He replied as he watched his friend he had been waiting for walk around the table and have a seat in front of him. “At least, that is what I have been told.” He smiled at
She returned the smile with a gentle shake of her head. “I wonder who will keep you out of trouble when I’m gone…” She leaned back in her seat.

“You act like you’ve been keeping me out of trouble. If I recall correctly, you’ve gotten me into more trouble then you’ve kept me out of.” He replied.

She shrugged her shoulders. “I’ve made your life more exciting.”

The waitress that had taken the order earlier returned with a cup filled with sweet house special coffee that he had ordered. She placed it in front of him. “Here you go!” She said keeping her eyes on him for a few moments. Her weight once more shifted before she looked over to the other that was sitting at his table. “What can I get you?”

“I will have whatever he is having…” She replied.

The waitress nodded then looked back to him. “Can I get you anything else…?”

He shook his head. “I’m good right now. Thank you.”

“My pleasure.” She replied then headed to get the other order.

His friend laughed shaking his head. “I think she has a crush on you…actually! I’m pretty sure she has a crush on you!”

He took a sip of his coffee then as he was placing his cup down he looked over at his friend. “What makes you think that…?” He asked.
“Oh, come on! Don’t play dumb! I think you know exactly why I say that.” She replied.

Before either of them could say anything else the waitress returned back to the table with another cup of coffee. She placed it on the table. “Enjoy!”

His friend smiled at the waitress but by then the waitress was once again looking at him. She flashed him another smile then headed to other tables.

His friend looked over her shoulder looking at the waitress as she walked away then looked back at him. “She is easy on the eyes.” She took a sip of the coffee then made a face. “But she sure doesn’t know how to make a good cup of coffee.”

They both laughed.
