Mission:
Deadly Diplomacy
Location: somewhere, somewhen
Korok had learned early in life, a hard life on Bajor under Cardassian rule that fighting was not the answer but his tormentors cared little for his change of heart. He thought that at first he could walk away. He had begged to be set free, to be told to go. He was willing to let his captors dig that knife once more in his back as he did so but the half-klingon knew they would twist it a bit too far and he would snap or it would snap off and he would react. That klingon blood in him always reacted, hard cruel and bruteful, his anger fueled and drove him. That flash of a face, which might have been someone he knew, made him question what he was doing had he lost himself so much to the ways of what Nero had wanted of him. What the Cardassians had wanted when they had taken his family.
Korok turned and leaned over and rolled 'the meat' over with his foot. It had always been easier to refer to those he had to beat and break to live as meat. But what he saw when he rolled 'the meat' over rolled his stomach and he howled. His arms suddenly felt like lead and the weapon lowered to the ground he followed it down. His knees hit the floor his hands slid down the bloody, stinky, sticky handle. He growled as he lifted the battered broken body into his arms and lifted his head and howled. The look on the face of the broken bloody body was one of pain, and of betrayal. He glanced down once more, the image of the face flickered to another and another. It flickered from one to another first slowly then faster, he would have puckered his forehead if the ridges of his face would not have been there. His dark eyes held trepidation at first then horror as the flashes sped up as the faces changed rapidly. He reached out and touched the face of a young girl her eyes the same color as his own.
Korok felt the hit as it reverberated into the core of his being and Korok felt as if he would black out, he fought the feeling. He shook his head as he looked down and gasped for air. The face had changed to another... another... this one, a woman. He had forgotten about her for so long and he tried so hard to bury the image away, deep back from where it came from and he accomplished it right as it flickered...
