Munich was in his civilian attire; slacks neatly pressed and a button cotton shirt with a vest; the blazer was neatly folded and on the back of the bench. even with teh ship more or less saFfe Munich had trouble sleeping last night, he kept looking at the ceiling. He had thought too much of what needed to be done, maybe what he should not have done?

He had to admit he felt it was the right thing to do and by the book it seemeed the next logical step but still he had a biting in the back of his head that he should have found the path he chose long before what could have gotten a lot of people killed?

He was supposed to meet Maria, he wanted to meet her, and yet his head made him seem somewhere else. Munich hoped a friendly face would be what it took to distract him from the thoughts.

Maria didn't dress up very often, generally preferring to wear pants -- or jeans. But today was a special occasion and she wanted to impress Hans, so she dressed in a knee-length black skirt and a soft cotton blouse in a warm blue and headed for the arboretum. It had been a rough few days and she hoped that the two of them could have a pleasant evening away from the pressures of work.

When she walked into the arboretum and spotted Hans, she wasn't so sure anymore. He looked a little ragged around the edges. "Is everything okay?" she asked when she walked up beside him.

"Just thinking..." He snapped to the present and almost out of the bench to stand. "Y-You look lovely." He noted with a genuine smile. "I am sorry I did not notice sooner, trying to get the .. job out of head."

Maria gave him a quick hug. She sat down on the bench and patted the seat beside her. "Tell me what's going on," he said quietly, wanting to help him feel better.

Munich sat beside her and after a slight sigh look to Maria. "I armed a Cobalt device and was ready to launch it." He admit. Vhat kind of man does that? I could have gotten a lot of people killed and just because we were dwindling the weapons..." He thought back to the fight. "well, we were not making a dent anyway and maybe I should have thought of the Shuttle idea sooner?"

She wrapped her arms around him and hugged him before answering. "The situation was reaching critical. We weren't breaching their shields and we couldn't retrieve our people on the planet. You did what you felt you had to." She paused for a moment before continuing. "And you continued to look for another option while you loaded the tri-cobalt device. In the end, you came up with the best solution. No one is going to fault you for what you were prepared to do."

"I suppose you are right." He liked the attention he had to admit. "How can I not agree with a woman beautiful as you." He reveled in the hug for a second or two. "You were there, I trust your observations over those of a counselor that was safely in another part of the ship," he said. "Thank you Maria, it means much that you see that in me."

"You're not the kind of man who would do what you're accusing yourself of," she assured him. "So, can we leave it at that and move on to a more pleasant topic? I don't like people saying bad things abut my ... senior officer."

Munich could not look away from her eyes, the softness in them with the extreme hint of fire, yes , he did want to get to more pleasant things.

"No more work." He said with his accent less pronounced. "YOu do look lovely you know, just in case I did not let express how much I like your being here?"

"There's nowhere else I'd rather be," she assured him, letting the topic of work go. They were both off duty and she really didn't want to spend her time with Hans going over what happened.

Munich stood and offered a hand. "Computer light jazz." HE waited for the selection to start. "PLants like music... care to dance with me?" HE asked.

Maria smiled and put her hand in his, letting him help her to her feet. "I would love to dance with you."

"I see that you appreciate a soft Jazz tune." Munich said as he brought Maria into the classic dance pose. "Lovely woman in attractive surroundings... what more can I ask for?"

"A salsa?" she teased. Still, she appreciated a man who could dance. Even though it wasn't a latin dance, she couldn't help but sway her hips to the music as they danced.

"Computer, Salsa music change." Munich winked. [A salsa never lies about the passion you know] He said in a well learned Spanish language and proper accent'. "I like your choices, lovely and intuitive." He complemented.

Maria's smile grew broader. "I did not know you spoke Spanish," she said. She spun out and back in, letting him lead her into a dip.

Maria forgot about where they were as she followed Hans' lead. He was an excellent partner. More important, he was right about the music.

"I was born in Brazil." Munich look down into her eyes as he brought her back up with the music taking over a bit; in more ways than he might have thought, he stopped for a second and slowly leaned in for a soft kiss.

She leaned in closer and returned his kiss, enjoying the music and the moment but especially enjoying that she was sharing them with Hans. She spun away from him and then back, pressing against him again as she moved to the music.

Munich felt more at ease with her close, the day and the pressures had long since faded away and right now he just danced with a beautiful woman. HE kept in rhythum as the music progressed towards the cricendo. He had admit to himself that this was far more enjoyable than he had thought; it had been too long since a proper dance with Latin Passion, the more formal dances of the Federation had a lot to be desired and Maria sparked a diffrent feeling in him and he just let the warmth of Maria close sooth the tensions away.

"You are a woman with secrets..." Munich complemented. "It adds to the passion in your steps. He winked.

"I am Latina," she replied simply. "We are passionate people." She gave him an impish grin. "Especially with the right person."

"That is good to know." He winked. "I would not have this dance with anyone else." He kept the steps as they should; the sharing of the passion set to music.

The music ended, but Maria didn't move for several seconds, not quite ready to let go of the moment. "Wow."

Munich leaned down to kiss her again for a moment. "this leads to a candle lit dinner I hope?" He suggested.

"I think that sounds perfect," she said, slipping her arm through his. "Vamanos."
