Mission: Revenge
Location: various

[CONTINUED]

[OLD]

Before the fighters reached their destination, they were joined by three other fighters and formed a wing.

"Target sited, 500 meters. Loading missiles," Phoenix said. "Weapons are hot."

[Bridge]

The seconds took longer to pass it seemed as time bogged down for Munich; he had assaults from all sides, fighters running the show of screening and the lack of real reports from the surface made him nervous. Plus with the ship fully defensive he could not beam anyone up if he wanted to.

Analysis was one of the lessons drummed into him by the Military academy he attended in Brazil at his parents urging. IN those lessons he had a few morsels of usable intel, he noted the Moon that was a majority of the missiles and keeping the damage levels up on the ship.

"Science give me a scan of the moon firing at us?" He looked to Maria. "How many life signs are on it?"

"None registering," Maria answered. "Shields on the moon are holding. No damage to the facility itself. Scans indicate the power supply is somewhere deep inside the moon."

"Lock Cobalt Hiroshima onto the moon." Munich instructed and waited for the Tactical to report ready. " Stand by to Fire Hiroshima..."

It was a bold move; maybe even a bit overkill, but Munich had expended a large portion of the torpedoes and his options were low as to the Moon not doing the same with their ready arsenal. It was a question of ending it; like the original Atom Bomb the Cobalt reminded Munich of, using it was not for mass destruction alone but to demoralize the enemy with a show of superior force. The only thing most Orion Syndicates understand; as Munich was going by reputation alone, is a superior force that would mash them into the ground.

"Direct a full volley on that moon, hit it with everything and if that does not work at least it is an unmanned station."Munich turned to Tactical. "WE use the Cobalt as a last resort."

Munich watched the screen as the full fury of the Calypso's weapons array burst two massive phaser blasts into the small installation on the moon. The rapid torpedoes fired in succession to strike where the Phasers had weakened the shielding and exploded upon impact with the DOme of shielding. The effect was impressive as the phasers seemed to wash over the half dome shape with the field absorbing the energy. The topedoes exploded omn the exterior shielding nearly instantly after one aonther creating a large cloud like effect to no avail as the weapon empancements firted another volley of missiles after what seemed little to no effect from the massive directional attack.

[Planet side, second squadron]

Hendriks and Georgio had swept near the atmsphere to mask their 'sling shot maneuver they planned to give thme some extra speed for a direct run on that Moon Station and maybe drop a couple of micro torps to soften it up for Calypso to wasted it finally. Georgio had taken the lead and his insturments began to act a little strange, the readings were off, according to the avionics he was in a tail spin and close to impact.

=^= Hendricks... are you getting...=^=

=^= According to mine I am two seconds from impact and the artificial horizon is going pretty bonkers. =^=

"Masking field?" Georgio said to himself. =^= Follow me I think we really need to see how batty this is? Keep visuals and break back another hundred meters behind me. =^=

Georgio slowed a bit and decended watching the affects on his instrumentation as he dropped out of orbit. The systems were acting funny as he expected, when the system was really useless and he could see the two near tree top level he set his torps and phasers on what he guessed the center of the field. The one sensor that gave him a reading was a thermal sensor, ther was a massive heat source using the frigid conditions to cool some powersource. It was an approximation for targeting but at least something to shoot at.

=^= Carpet bomb maneuvers, blind target.=^= Georgio ordered as he let his torpedeos fly and a burst of Phasers.

Hendriks followed two seconds later and let loose of his own barrage of weapon fire. The resulting attack hit something, the large explosion was enough to confirm they hit 'a target' and the avionics came back to normal.

=^= Calypso, scratch one hidden target. =^=

The Main power facility ; unmanned, for the base was destroyed without two pilots realizing.

[Planetside in the Compound]

All power to the lights and other systems went down.

Calypso Engineering: O'Brian looked up from her station. "I hope those flyboys are ok." She whispered to herself.

=^= Away team, we are taking heavy fire. Keep under cover as we might need extreme measures.=^= Munich's voice came over the open channel of the badges. =^= we are preparing a Cobalt device to use on the Moon, have you secured the Commodore? =^=

[First Squadron]

The team finally reached what looked like a large fighter base. "Phoenix to base, target sighted. Going in." She locked all weapons and began to fire as soon as she came into range.

She lead with barrage of weapon fire, followed by dropping every missile she still had, then pulling up sharply and making for space.

As she shot upwards, she glanced at her scanners. "Direct hit. Bojay, Wedge, how did you do?"

Wedge too a slighly lower angle of approach to hug the terrain better and give him a couplpe of more seconds on the target. The Phasers he emptied the banks to add to the force on the shielding, easily taking it down as it was weak from Phoenix's attack.

"I am the the enforcer that comes to wreck your party..." Wedge played off her earlier transmission from a cartoon.

The remainder of his micro torps were loosed on the target to add more fireworks to the explosions. before pulling up to the port as he noted the sharp 'dive' of Bojay's showing off.

"I am the party crasher that ruins the mood..." Bojay used his phasers on what was now an unshielded structure, hitting a couple of the ready fighters that had not yet launched.

The volley of torpedoes slammed into the fuel reserves, the resulting explosions would help tear that station apart with all the combined munitions the three had dropped on the unsuspecting heads of this base.

He all but skimmed ; closer to scraped, the terrain as he pulled up. He had always liked the 'dive bombers' in the old war Holos so he could not resist.

Bojay and Wedge did side by side victory rolls just before linking up to Pheonix.

[Engineering]

"O'Brian to Bridge. That 'red line' is moving farther to the left. The Warp Core is still going strong, but venting plasma time is getting close!"
