Mission: Revenge

[CONTINUED]

[OLD]

-^-Sir, I think I've found something,-^- One of his pilots chirped in, cutting the music off at the same time. Turning it off, he made for the area that had been called out.

-^-Vance we have an Ion trail at 226 Mark five, me and mine are already on it.-^-

"Helm, take us to those coordinates and trail the fighters. Lieutenant Roberts, Munich, track the trail and see if you can find which planet our people are on." Vance stated reading the console on the arm of her chair. The data told her the system had five planets, two capable of supporting life, two which could be habitable with the proper facilities and one which was uninhabitable.

"I am filtering the background noise of all the 'chatter' in this area." Munich said as he tapped the controls. "They dropped in a heavy traffic area, great to cloak your transmissions." He added. "It is a trick they learned from pirating Subspace Relays to communicate, Our company found a way to detect and block it..." He set a few systems. "I can filter out a lot , not make out what dey say but maybe an angular vector to help focus?"

[Fighters]

"Phoenix to base. The trail passes by three planets and heads out the system. No way to tell which of the three is our target."

Alexandra placed her hand on her face. "Scan the surface for energy readings. The facility will be utilizing some form of energy to either power an artificial environment or simply for lighting. Either way they will stick out amongst the surface."

Andrews looked up from her Science Station. "Commander...the planets with hospitable atmospheres.. the second one...Commander.. just read a 'spark' from that planet - it matches what transpired on the missing crews Com badges.."

"The spark comes from the crew combadges. What's on the planet appears to be light refraction from the sun. Sorry, sir," Anli said to Vance. "There are no power readings of any kind coming from any planet."

"Ma'am, I have a suggestion" Cam said, leaning forward a little, "Let me deploy an EV unit to one of the planets. That way the fighters will only have to scan two"

Vance looked back at Cam puzzledly. "What exactly do you expect to accomplish Lieutenant? We have yet to determine which planet this facility is on. Where do you plan on starting? What can you do that the fighters cannot?" She wondered if the Marine was withholding information given the bizarre nature of the request.

"My marines are more than capable to scan a planet and if we have them out there scanning at least one planet, that's one less planet the fighters have to visit. We're also trained in advanced Zero-G combat so we can handle anything we might come across" Cam said, hoping he got his point across. As a Marine, he wasn't much of a negotiator.

"I might suggest the Marines utilize their drop ships; the sensors are more tactical types and therefore maybe tuned more to the baffling effects of Military tactical emplacements. Marines hate to run into trouble they have good eyes and the Marines IN the drop ships might use the windows and sight gear to help scan?" Munich suggested. "Like Dey say the more eyes the better."

"Very well Lieutenant Bourne make the necessary preparations and keep a comm channel open. Mister Munich will give you the coordinates of the planet you will be exploring." Vance stated.

Cam nodded, "understood" he said standing up straight and tapping his combadge, "units Alpha and Delta, report for deployment"

Andrews looked back at her console, then at Vance. "Commander, there are 'sparks' coming from Engineering, Medical, Bridge..and the fighters!" A worried look crossed her face.

"Mister Munich, adjust shield modulation on a rotating frequency. Use the main deflector to flood the area surrounding the Calypso with anti-graviton particles. That should disrupt any transporter beam and with any luck give our friends an unexpected surprise."

The communications will be affected as well." Munich warned as he began to flood the area surrounding the ship. "Our transmissions will be easy enough to get through but anything weaker than our; like a comm badge, might be affected and our own Transporters might have a slight deflection if needed." Munich corrected his harmonics accordingly. "I will keep everyone here ma'am, no more losses, that is unacceptable."

-Space-

Eighteen fighters sped forward towards the planets, doing 'Warp Hops' to cover the distance quicker. "Alright guys, six men to a planet. Lets find this base. Number one way we're going to find out its them?"

"Someone tries to shoot us?" his wingman said to the laughter of most of the pilots.

"I guess that works. I want low orbit scans, keep moving and don't slow down except to keep the friction low. I doubt that the Engineers will be too happy if we have a fighter or eight with scorch marks." The rest copied in, then split as they neared the planets. Five fighters were going low, while one attempted to stay in orbit and do a wider scan. Since they didn't have the same abilities as a Federation Starship, some of the scanning had to be done with their eyes.
