[Sickbay - Engineering]

Dr. Frost sat straight up, the scan from the transporter. They were key in her mind. Frost stood up and headed out the door to engineering. The medical officer stuck out like a sore thumb in the engineering department. Ilse called out "Would anyone know where the chief is or at least someone who could help me with a transporter question?"

[Engineering]

O'Brian looked at Dr. Frost, then back to Eamon; a question in her eyes as to whom should answer the Doctor..

Eamon glanced to the entrance and saw a medical officer stop short a few steps inside the engine room. He wondered why then saw Shannon's plea in her expression, never mind her strongest emotion he was picking up was the desire to help the medical officer.

He smiled. "Go ahead O'Brian, though I don't know why the transporter operator on duty couldn't assist. They know the system better then anyone, well except me." He chuckled.

Shannon looked at Dr. Frost. "I'll be happy to help, Doc. What's the question?"

"The transporter, scanned everyone when they returned to the arrived to the ship correct? What data did it take? and do we will have access to it?"

O'Brian crunched her lip. "The transporter took readings of each person as they beamed on board, if we can check out their com badges that were left after they vanished, perhaps we can find a variance?"

"A variance of what, their com-signal. I wondered about their bio life signs. But that idea sounds doable." Frost grinned back at O'Brian

"Get on it," Eamon said. "How can they beam our people away without their combadges being taken along with them?" He asked, though his mind was going through several possibilities already.

O'Brian checked her console. " I see Lieutenant Andrews in Science is checking on the missing people's com badges as well. Perhaps we should join our efforts?"

"I leave that up to you folks." Frost replied she was after all a doctor not a scientist or an engineer. She understood very little of either their expertise.

O'Brian looked over at Eamon; as much as she now hated the thought of working with Andrews, she knew where her duties lie. She checked over her board. "I see that Andrews is currently on the bridge, should I head up there? Or would you like me to remain here?"

"Why?" Eamon asked.

O'Brian just shrugged. "I was thinking that we could correlate our findings together, if we were in tandem up there, we wouldn't have to rely to our ships communication, in *case* these alien abductors try to grab a few more of us."

"Very well, carry on, but do not do anything major without consulting me." Eamon said.

O'Brian started to leave, but turned back to her station. "Well, give me a minute, I want to re-check some of these findings."

Inside a pocket, O'Brian fondled an inncoulator. The person whom she had intended to use it on was not 'available,' but another candidate had come forth. Her thoughts turned dark. "Oh' Stretch,' " she mulled in her mind. "You've been useful in the past, but your time is now over.." O'Brian looked at Lieutenant Lynx once again. "Lieutenant, regarding that 'spark' incident that Andrews reported earlier?"

Due to his empathic senses he picked up on negativity from the engineer and Eamon wasn't sure he should ask about it. He didn't know if she knew he was empathic or not, it was after all in his service jacket. "What about it?" He asked.

O'Brian looked at her board. "Well...it's just happened again, and I'm getting more than one spark, hitting various com badges."

Frost had stood by and had listened to the two chat she crossed her arms her usual smile disappeared as she asked "Can we not create a field around the ship that will prevent them form taking others?"

O'Brian turned her head to one side. "*If* it's the Orion's we're dealing with - we might be able to." She turned to Lynx. "Shall I contact the Bridge with this suggestion?"

"What about if every one removes their com-badges and simply places them near by them and we use the actual computer interface to contact one another by department. I know it would be tedious but wouldn't it prevent more abductions?" The doctor was trying extremely hard to help out and probably should be with the science department but she was here now and would help as she could."

O'Brian nodded. "It couldn't hurt." O'Brian tapped her com badge.

"Hold on. We can just remodulate and triaxulate the shield generators to randomise the frequency every couple of seconds. Though the timing we'd have to alter every so often preventing the Orions from matching us." Eamon said stopping Shannon from contacting the Bridge.

He quickly added. "Though we do use the computer for internal communications anyway, there are audio and visual sensors throughout the ship. So disabling our combadges is not an issue. It's just that if you want to use the system you have to be in a key area or use the wall consoles in any corridor." Eamon took his combadge off and then removed the casing. He wondered how he could reconfigure it to emit a scattering field to prevent the Orions from locking onto them.

"I'll look into a combadge scattering field while you go to the bridge to work with Andrews. What do you want to do Doctor?" Eamon asked.

O'Brian left Engineering for the nearest turbo lift to the Bridge.

The Doctor looked around and felt a tad out of place "I guess I'll head back to Sickbay as I'm not much here. Thanks for letting me bounce my idea off the two of you." She flashed a smile and turned to leave but had to wait for the turbo lift as O'Brian had already left.

While Frost looked into the combadges scattering field, O'Brian got into a trubo lift, and stated," Bridge." The turbo lift 'rocked,' and O'Brian shouted, "Belay that! Engineering!" What ever was happening, O'Brian knew her station was the place to be.

The doctor felt the ship rock she waited impatiently for the lift to return.

The turbo lift swooshed open and O'Brian cam running out, almost running the Doctor over.."Doc, sorry about that! We just got a hit and I'm betting I'm needed in Engineering.." She shouted and her words faded away as she ran further from the Doc.

Frost felt the woman impact her shoulder and twirl her around and when she righted she stepped into the turbolift and was about to say something but the woman was already gone so she called out. "Sickbay"

O'Brian came back into Engineering and got back to her station. "Lieutenant Lynx, due to our current situation, I thought it best to be here."
