"I'm slightly scared," Marek replied.
"That I understand." Spartacus reply as she moved closer to the man to speak more with him and not let others hear. "I have seen what they want from us and I may not like it but I am scared as well, maybe just hiding it better" She took the man's hands. "We are in this together so at least we are not alone right, you are here to help me right?"
Marek found himself hesitate to speak as Spartacus held his hands but the uncomfortableness evaporated a moment later once he focused on what she was saying. "Yes. We are in this together, but it is hard not to let one's mind wonder the worst as hope," he stopped, blinked and then gave an embarrassed smile. "Positive thinking, right?" He held up a fist with his thumb up.
"The best thing in a bad situation." Spatacus agreed as she knew she had a hard road ahead. "Keeping the wits will prevail, I managed to get through a fight and not get killed so what they have here is not as powerful as it may seem." She assured. "The Calypso WILL find us just a matter of a little time."
"I am glad that you didn't perish, and yes our friends will find us. We have to help them if we can." Marek said and offered his hand. "I'm Marek, Assistant Chief Engineer. I think we hadn't been introduced yet."
"Good to meet you , I am Spartacus, Teenah Spartacus, Counselor..." She smiled brightly. "But don't hold that against me."
The cell door opened and Samantha was pushed into the room. The second she cleared the doorway, the door was slammed shut. She could hear the door lock and the bar slide into place.
As soon as her eyes adjusted to the dimness she looked around to make sure everyone was still there.
Spartacus had taken a small place in the corner as she had come back from the combat she strolled in and took a seat in the corner. She used the wall as a brace, she had fought the man and won. The point is more that she got lucky in that the enemy did not suspect she could do it. especially the non fear of the whip; a terrorizing weapon normally, did not factor into their thinking.
She looked up to see the Commodore coming in; at least the people were accounted for. Making eye contact Spartacus nod to the Commanding Officer. No one really believed she had won a fight; her uniform was not even damaged; she had no real wounds to show like Korok and she walked in with the same dignity as she had left.
*They must think I slept with someone to get out of fighting...* Spartacus admit her coming back hardly dirty did not make for a 'I won the fight' type story. *Sorry Commodore- I let myself be caught up in the moment, I should have ended it sooner.* She projected.
It would have been easy for Spartacus to plot the course of the whip; step into the slow moving weapon and do the same thing she had done but her thinking was clouded by anger over what is happening and her own fears of being a prisoner. She needed to get past that if Spartacus wants to survive; nplan better and use less effort, the next battle she will end as fast as she can knock the person down.
"It's okay," Sam replied telepathically. "You did fine." She found a semi-clean spot and sat down near Damon. "Well, I now know what they want from us. We're here to fight for sport."
Kara shook her head, not pleased with the news. "Weapons or hand-to hand?"
"Both. It depends on the type of combat. Some have weapons, some don't. Some are to the death, some are not," Sam replied. "They ultimately want to kill us."
Korok had his back to the wall. He sported new injuries, a cut on one cheek, another on a arm from the recent event where he had been taken and then brought back again. They were relatively clean, but still bled occasionally. He had looked up when Samantha York had entered. He tried to give her a smile of comfort, but failed his heart was heavy and her news was grim indeed. He crossed his arms over his knees and placed his forehead on his arms. ~What in the world would Roberta think if he was killed in this place.~ He tried to not to think about it but it seemed liked an overwhelming death sentence to him. He had given into caring for someone well actually three someones and now. Now what good was he? They were to be slaughtered slowly. His brain tried to think about how to get out of this place. It was not like when his family had been killed and he had to try and simply find enough to live on even when he had not wanted too. This was different, yet not, but Korok knew one thing. He could not stay here, he had too much to live for. They all did, each and everyone of them. "Did you perhaps see a way out?" His words were muffled by his arm.
"Not from where I was. But there has to be a way out somewhere," Sam replied. "There are two entrances into the arena. I couldn't tell if there was another at the back of the spectator seating. There were a number of people in the room, watching the fight. All of them wanted to see blood and death." It still left a bad taste in her mouth.
She looked at Korok and the others. "We need to prepare ourselves to fight and win."
"And mostly be here for one another." Spartacus said. "No tear is wasted and not personal share is too much, we are all in this together for the duration."
