Maia and Korok finished cleaning up the dishes. "Korok, go get changed and meet your girl. Gaia and I will finish this and then perhaps you can introduce me to this woman who you mention at least ten times a day. Korok tightened his shoulders he tried hard all day not to think about tonight.
Maia shook her head that was a signal that mean he was extremely nervous. The man had glowered all day as if he were were about to bite someone's head off and he almost had, Quartez's, Gaia's Ferengi Barkeep. Maia simply could not understand why.
Korok had said little all day. Which for him was not out of the ordinary but he usually was cordial enough to spend at least a few minutes here and there to talk about other things besides what had to be done at work. He was worried about tonight. More than ever before, it was his first night being out with 'her' people and he was nervous. This ship, to him, was not like the Ares where the Captain had often sat him down to talk to him during his meals. Then the two, well the three of them actually, had spent all the time doing that emergency work. No this was different. He was not sure how he would be accepted here, if at all. Being a half-breed didn't bother him too much. But most expected him to be surly and he often wasn't. Instead he tended to be more like his Bajoran half, temperamental wise and occasionally he would get angry and need to blow off steam. The holodeck and the gym were wonderful things for that, like right now he was so tense and stressed that he wanted to beat the livin' crap out of some Cardassian but could not.
Korok had nodded put away the bit of cheese he had finished grating, away and had walked out and headed toward his quarters. He changed alright, changed in to some workout clothes and headed to the gym where he stood before the punching bag and hit the thing over and over. He hit it harder and harder, his frown, if you could call it that could not be seen except he bared his teeth a bit. Korok felt as if the Pah Wraiths were out to get him and he did not exactly understand why. Why was he so nervous about this, part of it was formality and other parts of it were something he knew he had to do. If the two of them were to be together then he had to do what 'humans' did and ask the woman. He sighed softly and then growled a deep unsatisfied growl. The biggest question was when and where, women were funny that way, things had to be perfect and he was far from that. He had no idea what she liked or would like. He wondered a great deal more things and started beating the bag harder.
