Mission: Revenge
Location: Security department

Anastasia hadn't made it to her quarters. She had gone to the Security department, to see if anyone else could handle the bridge, so she could get her paperwork straightened out, and introduce herself to the Chief Security & Tactical Officer.

Instead, she came across a Security department left largely emptied of personnel. There was the occasional officer present, but that's all.

"Can I help you, ma'am?" An Ensign asked.

"I'm looking for the Chief Security Officer." She said, quietly, wondering where everyone was.

"Well, that's kind of a problem, ma'am. We're not sure who that is. According to the ship's computer, a glitch in the specific transporter beam that abducted most of the security department seems to have caused large parts of that transmission to scatter. If more than 3 people actually materialized out of it, I'd be surprised." The Ensign noted, looking at a stack of PADDs.

"That's the lot, near as the computer could tell. We've eliminated most of the list. Could you put your hand here, please, ma'am?" He added.

She put her hand on the PADD, and it registered her hand-print.

"Biometrics recognized: Lieutenant Junior Grade Anastasia Morrow, listed as highest ranking Tactical officer on board, according to ship's internal sensor array." The PADD noted.

"Congratulations ma'am, you're the Chief Security Officer. What did you want me to do?" The Ensign asked.

Anastasia was still staring at the PADDs.

"How many?"

"I haven't counted, ma'am. They're almost all verified as deceased." The Ensign said quietly.

"Do... whatever you were doing. Compile the list, and put it on a-" She was cut off.

The Ensign handed her another PADD. "Now that we've verified the last name on the list was one of just two to survive, here's the list."

"Who was the other?" Anastasia asked.

"Ensign Willbur James Woodrow the 9th." He said, in a somewhat official sounding voice.

"So someone else did survive." Anastasia said, nodding.

"I should hope so. Otherwise you're talking with a ghost." The man said, but Anastasia was wandering towards the exit, still holding the PADD. "Did you want me to tell any of the available staff anything?"

Anastasia kept walking. She wasn't very responsive. Then she stopped.

"Could you repeat that?" She asked.

"Did you want me to tell any of the available staff anything?" He asked.

"No, the first thing. After the PADD scanned my hand." Anastasia muttered.

"Oh. Yes. Morrow, Anastasia. Lieutenant Junior Grade. Highest ranking Security or Tactical officer on board." Ensign Woodrow repeated.

"Great. So I have to hand this to the Captain." Anastasia said, her head falling further.

"Ma'am, if I may suggest a shower, first?" Ensign Woodrow asked.

"It won't put me in a better mood." Anastasia said, over her shoulder.

"Ma'am, you're still... how do I put this... covered in the muck from the planet below?" Woodrow said.

Anastasia looked down.

"Ah." She said simply. "Right."
