She turned to Mordu, her disruptor still in her other hand. "I'm saving your life, you owe me. Now, let's sit down and wait, okay? Maybe we can play Blackjack or something to pass the time."
[NEW]
"Sorry, Sweetie. I don't play cards for free. You got to put something up in order to get me interested." Mordu replied with an unamused look on his face, which slowly shifted to a smirk as he continued. "How about this? We play for truth? When I win a hand you have to answer on of my questions. When you win, I get to answer one of yours."
Damion laughed as he watched the monitor. "What could you possibly know that would interest her?"
"A variety of things. Even thing's about you. Stuff that can't be read in a Starfleet File." Mordu smirked as turned his head to Damion, then to Ronnie. "How about it, Wanda? You interested in learning the secrets of The Big Bad Wolf?"
"Beauty and the Beast is more my style," Ronnie admitted. "Besides, I'm not sure there's anything I want to learn from you."
"Then how can you truly care about him if you refuse hear all his secrets?" Mordu replied as he leaned back in his chair.
"That's enough, Mordu!" Damion yelled. He didn't like the way this conversation was going, but something about what he said made a little sense. He had a lot of secrets and Ronnie only knew the tip of the iceberg.
"Come on, Jake. I'm doing you a favor." Mordu smirked as he turned and looked to Damion. "Think of me as the man who will test the waters of your relationship. You really think she would love you after she knew everything about you? Your kidding yourself if you think otherwise."
"You don't want to do me a favor," Ronnie countered to Mordu. "You want to break us up. I'm not afraid of the truth, but that doesn't mean I want to hear your spin on whatever truth you choose to represent. Or create. Trust appears to be something you don't believe in. Pity. You must live a sad, lonely life."
Mordu smirked as he turned his head to face her. "Then if your not afraid of the truth, why you so reluctant to play?" He turned the chair to face her and leaned back in it slightly, his eyes locked on her like she was the only one in the room. "I give you my word. Everything I tell you will be complete truth, and if you don't believe me. You can ask the source yourself. I am sure you would trust him to tell you the truth. Don't you?"
"I trust Jake. I don't trust you," she said succinctly.
Mordu smirked as he leaned forward a bit, still looking at her. "Then he can confirm, or deny everything I say, can't he? So now you have no reason to worry that I might spin the truth or give you my representation of it. So what's your excuse now, Lancaster... I mean Wanda."
He was too pushy. What was he after? Did he really want to tell her about Damion, or did he think he could get information from her that he could use later? "I don't know who this Lancaster is," she stated. "And why are you so eager to ask me questions? What do YOU want out of this?"
"Continue to play your games. How can you expect me to be honest when you refuse to be honest with me." Mordu smirked, tapping on the console before looked over to Ronnie.
"Okay, but we won't use your cards. I don't trust you." She turned to Jake. "Get me a deck of cards. Let's see if your friend here is bluffing."
Mordu smirk only grew more devilish as he spoke. "Splendid. Nothing like a nice game of cards to ease the tension."
Damion eyed Mordu cautiously then nodded his head to Ronnie. He walked over to a replicator and replicated a deck of cards. He shuffled through them, making sure it all appeared intact then began to shuffle them. He wasn't sure about Mordu's intention, but considering his past interaction with the man, he knew it wasn't any good.
"We'll start with a game they call Texas Hold 'em," Ronnie said calmly. "If you have any questions, I'm sure Jake can get you up to speed." She shuffled hte deck and began to deal the cards.
