Mission: Falling Star

ON:

Damion tapped at the console as they landed the shuttle on a planet. They had already passed the point of no return. Even if Ronny secretly wanted to go back, it was too late. They had already landed on a planet just outside the Romulan Neutral Zone. It was a frequent stop for the lowest of the low and the location of Damion's contact for Strife. He shut the the engines and made sure to mask their appearance with the onboard cloak on the Cerberus and got up. He turned to face a different console and started working again, bringing up the map of their location.

"So, when we actually run into Stryfe, am I supposed to pretend to be a part of the conspiracy or did you persuade me on board," Ronnie asked as she joined Damion.

"We aren't meeting up with Stryfe here, but you do have a good point. I think the best way is to claim to be part of the conspiracy. Come up with some story about being sick of the way things were, or something convincing. Remember, he is gonna look back into your record to check up on you. I don't know if there is enough time to change yours. I didn't exactly plan on taking you with me." Damion said softly a she looked over to her and leaned back in his chair.

"I do have the events in the Orion mines and on Tiberius IV. But I don't know if they're enough to look like I'm dissatisfied. COuld I just say I chose you over Starfleet?"

"That works for me." Damion smirked and let out a slight laugh. "I don't know if that will be satisfying for Stryfe. He wont trust me as quickly either, so both of us will be under a microscope, and sure to be tested on our loyalties."

"Okay. As long as I'm with you, I think I can handle it." She hugged him tightly. Now that they'd resolved their differences she was loath to lose him again.

Damion smiled and let out a sigh before bringing up The Night Star files. "Here. This is something you need to hear about before we get onboard. You need to know the key players in all this at least."

"Okay." She began to read over the files, repeating the names and information in her head so that she could commit it to memory. "Can I admit that this whole situation scares me?"

"These files don't say much about their personalities, but thankfully. That's why you have me here." Damion smirked. "One of the reasons they wanted me here, as you know, I am a former member of this crew. So I know more then this file tells you."

"That could be said of a lot of things, my love," she said, chuckling softly. "You know a great deal, period."

Damion laughed slightly and continued. "Being a Intel Officer is not just a career, its a bit of a way of life." He let out a soft laugh and then brought up one of the files. "Lesson one in Intel. Information is Power. Know your enemy and subjects. Every bit of information, no matter how small, can help you with your mission. And completing your mission is always important in Intel."

"Information I can do. I have a feeling that's the easy part," she said.

"Getting it, Yes. Obtaining it, not so much. You would be surprised at the length one would go to get information." Damion replied as he leaned back a motioned for her to come over to him. "Let's get started with your debriefing, Recruit." He smirked.

She raised an eyebrow, not sure she wanted to know what lengths he went to in the past. An image of Vanya flashed in her mind. But, she'd started down this path and she'd need to keep on it. She walked over to Damion. "Yes?" she asked, giving him a half-smile.

Damion put his hand on the side over her waist and brought her down to a sitting position on his lap. He put his arm around her waist and used his other one to access the files. "Let's Begin." He smirked, almost feeling like a teacher at this point. Albeit a teach who is with his student, but a teacher all the same. "First thing is first, Captain Gregory Stryfe. Captain of the Night Star and priority number one. Objective: Apprehend and Bring him in for triall. Conditions: Dead or alive. Preferably Alive, but Intel has ordered lethal force of the situation calls for it."

She settled comfortably on his lap and put her arms around him. "Use whatever means necessary to gain that objective?" she asked, not sure she liked the idea.

"I know you're uncomfortable with that. I can feel it, but we will only be crossing those lines if there is nothing else we can do." Damion looked over to her and gave her a slight squeeze. "A lot of these people are my friends. Some of them still may be, so I don't want to go charging in like gunslinging. We need to weed out the allies from the enemies and decide the best course of action. With their help we might be able to do that better."

Ronnie relaxed. "Good." She gave him a quick kiss, taking clear advantage of the situation. "Okay, who's next?"

"Not yet. Stryfe is slightly paranoid. He is a true Intel officer, in the sense that he values information, but he is also a very gifted fighter and strategist. Think a a man who plays chess and before you moved your third piece, has already mapped out how to beat you." Damion let out a sigh and then smirked slightly. "But he isn't unbeatable. His weakness is loyalty. The closer he feels to you, the more he lets his guard down. We can get past him, but his bodyguard might be an issue." He tapped on the console and brought up picture of a gruesome looking Nausicaan. "This is his right hand man, Gorosh. Security Chief."

Ronnie groaned softly. "Now we're getting out of my depth. You're in the best position to get his loyalty. What am I supposed to do?" Except make the Nausicaan laugh himself silly when she ran away at the first sight of him.
