Lieutenant Commander Sheridan left the bridge and stopped by to check in with the Captain for a quick update.. he rang the chime.

"Come"

Sheridan entered and the door closed behind him, morning James. How are things going? he sat on the couch and actually rested his long legs.

"I think we're getting there slowly" said Mongomery. "How are the crew settling in?"

"Good, we're lucky to have this crew. Not many of them but fortunate... Ensign Simm's has made a few interesting finds on a nearby planet he needs me to go over with him. He's very young but fanatically committed."

"We'll have to see what staff we take on when we reach the fleet, but we may be looking for a couple of people to step up and take department head. Do you think he's up to it?"

"Could be, let me feel him out first and see where he's at, but we could use him..."

"I'll leave you keep an eye on things. On other matters, any sign of the and of this warp trail we're following?"

"Nothing yet Sir, Got quite a number of crew scanning it including Simms, but nothing yet."

"It makes me apprehensive" sighed Montgomery. "It just doesn't smell right. We should be on a nice easy shakedown, not getting involved in this sort of thing."

"I need to get down and talk with that young man I believe he said something about a planet of interest to us."
