Samantha had been busy setting up the science department and the arboretum. And spending time with a certain Marine...

She was going through her daily reports when she realized she hadn't taken time to get her physical.

An oversight she wished to correct as soon as possible. Sam contacted sickbay and made an appointment.

She walked into sickbay and up to the nurse on duty. "Hi. Samantha York. I have an appointment for a physical."

Barbara Tarango was still on duty for another six hours before the other nurse came to take her place for the night shift. She was about to yawn when a lady came in. "Good. Have a seat over here," she pointed. She picked up a medical tricorder and walked over to her. "I'm Nurse Tarango. You must be a science officer?"

"Samantha York," she replied with a nod. "I need a physical."

"You said that the first time, ma'am. I found your database with your name...", she opened the instrument and started the scans of her head, neck, chest, and abdomen. "I just didn't know what department you were from, but I just read your bio seeing that you are the Chief Science Officer."

Sam shook her head and chuckled. She had repeated herself. "Sorry. I guess my mind is elsewhere right now. Yes, I'm the Chief Science Officer." Her thoughts were on Damon. She was acting decidedly twitterpated. Sam needed to get a grip and focus.

"Well," Barbara said as she closed her tricorder, "Your physical is fine. You are healthy." She turned to put the instrument on a nearby tray and picked up the PADD, "I'll enter the information on your medical record. Do you have any concerns or questions, ma'am?"

"No questions or concerns," Sam replied. "Thank you for your time. I appreciate it."

"No problem," she said as she watched Lieutenant York removed herself from the biobed and walked out of sickbay. Still a lot more physicals to do, Barbara thought as she went back to finish her assignment.
