The Race for the Lost Treasure
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: Before the Mission of The Race for the Lost Treasure

Having arrived through the cargo bay of USS Calypso in a shuttlecraft a few hours ago, Corporal Heulinu Zhap went straight to sickbay after visiting his new quarters. As a Corpsman, he knew how important it was to get his medical status up-to-date. He didn't want to waste any time and wanted to get it out of the way so he can begin his duty to USS Calypso.
With his transfer papers and his information on two PADDs, he walked in with ease and picked an empty biobed to have a seat on. He looked around, observing the size of sickbay as well as the equipment that it provides. Just like the last ship, he thought. Kinda big, unique smell, and same equipment.
Nurse Jaynes left one patient to store the tricorder on a countertop when she spotted a blonde hair, young man sitting upright on a biobed. A marine, she thought, seeing his uniform. She walked over to him, noticing his enlistment rank on his neck collar, and looked up at his face.
"Can I help you...Corporal?" She said with a smile, wondering if he was sick or injured.
Corporal Zhap looked at her and frowned as it appeared that he was looking at someone of a younger age. He stopped himself short before he question her age and figured that appearances can be deceiving. "You must be a nurse?"
"Yes...", she became mesmerized at how blue the man's eyes were and forgot what to say next. She heard his strange accent that almost sounded like music to her ears.
He noticed her stare as she didn't move. "I'm not a ghost," he teased. "I arrived a few hours ago and," he handed a PADD to her, "that's my up-to-date physical which was done a month ago."
She shook her head a little and smiled. "No, I did not see a ghost...", she looked down at the PADD. "Your name?"
"Heulinu Zhap. Everybody calls me Henry to make it easier on my name," he returned his smile. "Are you new here? You seem like an appren-tice? I see that you are a petty officer 2nd class."
"Oh no," Yvette said. "Everybody thinks that I'm underage...I'm not. I've been a nurse for three years. This up-to-date physical will be acceptable and Doctor Bowen expects physicals to be six to eight months."
"Doctor Bowen...is that your CMO?"
She felt strange seeing this man's eyes could stare down someone's soul. Forget it, Yvette, she told herself, you are imaging it... She nodded quickly to his question.
"I will probably meet him later..."
Yvette giggled, "our CMO is not a he...it is a she. Her full name is Leanne Bowen."
"Oh," he was taken back by the gender error. "A woman..."
"She is a very nice person to work with," she said, wondering if the gender was a problem for physicals. "We do have two male doctors if you wish to see them instead."
He laughed. "You've mistaken. See, my position on this ship is a corpsman and I'm to interview with the CMO." He gave her smile again, noticing that she was blushing. "It's not a big deal. There might be times that I would be needed here to help out if a shortage happens."
Yvette was interested in his accent, wondering where he is from. Sure enough, she will find out later instead of questioning his personal background here, maybe a drink in the lounge sometime. "I will keep this so we can upload it into our system," she said, trying to keep things professionally. "In the meantime, you a free from physicals and can return or begin your duties."
When he didn't remove himself and remained quiet, she asked, "is there something else you need?"
He was deep in thought, thinking and wondering a lot of things. "Sorry. I'll get it out...say, would like to have a drink with me in the lounge?"
"I...", she looked behind her, wondering if she had an audience listening. Seeing that nobody is evesdropping, she turned and smiled at him. "I'm pretty busy," she blushed by accident. Yvette didn't want her face to show it and she turned again to look across sickbay where there was a patient that she has treated earlier.
"Not a problem...if you don't have the time," he jumped off the biobed, glanced to where Yvette was looking at, "maybe later?"
When Yvette looked back at the man, she was surprised that he wasn't tall like most men, but he wasn't short either. Besides his height, he was muscular in his upper body which shows through his uniform when he flexes them by a certain movement. She felt a sudden rush of sensation in her midsection. She gave him a polite smile, feeling a little childish, "maybe..."
Don't leave without her name. She's a friendly, pretty girl. "What was your name?"
"Yvette Jaynes."
"I will probably see you again. It's nice to meet you, Nurse Jaynes." He would have used her first name, but duty calls for professional etiquette. "Don't let me keep you...I will ask again later. I will see Doctor Bowen in an hour or so as I need to meet with the marine officer in charge soon."
"Okay," she said in a soft voice. She watched him wink at her and left sickbay. That wink he gave her, made her feel funny inside. Nobody has ever winked at her before. It felt strange to her that he did.
