Mission: The Race for the Lost Treasure
Location: Various

ON

Stran had been rather uncomfortable, waiting for his relief to show up. The away team had taken it's time getting under-water, and the console...

was boringly quiet.

Daniels entered the bridge, and nodded to a few present, whom he was acquainted.

"You're off, points. Boss lady says you should nap. You're training marines in the morning." Daniels said, patting Stran on the back.

"Thank you, Ensign Daniels." Stran said, nodding. "Notify the Captain when the away team gets out of scan range."

"They just submerged?" Daniels asked.

Stran nodded.

The console beeped noisily.

"Didn't take long, eh?" Daniels asked, chuckling. "Ma'am, we've lost transport lock on the away team. Comm-links are still working, though for how long, I don't know."

Stran watched Daniels, curiously, as he began resetting the scanners.

"Life sign callibrations don't work through the interference." Stran noted.

"True, but correlating heat and electro-magnetic signals, such as the comm-badges will give us a better idea of where they are, for longer times, Stran. They've got the new heat-sensors up to the point where daylight doesn't bother them anymore." Daniels said. "Go to bed. You've been on duty for 39 hours."

"Yes, Mother." Stran said, quietly, and left the bridge.

Daniels quirked an eyebrow. "Now, I know he's tired. He made a funny."

Samantha poured over the information gathered on Morgana. The shuttle records held little or nothing, but there were strange gaps that made little sense -- although the ship's logs claimed the shuttle passed through an ion storm at each of those points. "Computer, compare time stamps for each segment of the database." Or what there was. Something had fried the memory circuits past a certain point about a week prior. "Note an irregularities or gaps in the time signatures that don't fall in line with the ship's logs."

"All data complies with available ship's records."

Sam sighed. It would appear that the ship, like its pilot, had a case of amnesia. She would have to look elsewhere to solve this mystery.

After the meeting with the Captain, Commander, and the Chief Security Officer, Leanne returned to sickbay to try and finish up paperwork on her desk. She wasn't sure if there was something odd about Morgana. Her injury was only minor which was an easy fix. The rest of her health was good.

As for Nurse Tarango being relieved from duty due to the security incident, she placed Nurse Helga Lowe as acting head nurse for Tarango. Barbara Tarango is under the care of the counselor for an evaluation and possible treatment. Leanne hopes that her nurse will get better and come back to work. Things were not easy when a nurse is absence because there is a shortage for nurses. Sometimes, doctors have to work without a nurse.

Robert Tyler, and a slightly annoyed Janine Donovan, sat across the table of the Security Lounge's main table, pondering each other, carefully. They looked up, expectantly, at the Chief of Security. While the away team was out of contact, the team felt... underused.

"Go fish." Levue said, with a scowl.

Tyler looked to Donovan. Donovan was grumpy, but her scowl, was more tuned into the Chief's frame of mind. Tyler shook his head.

"I'd love to, love, but the wife's not about, to make that game worth while." Tyler said, shaking his head.

Levue chuckled at the joke, and looked to Donovan.

"You are annoyed that your recommendations aren't being taken seriously. You think the crew thinks you are a paranoid, overcautious, military-oriented blowhole." Donovan said, directly.

"Go fish." Levue said, and turned to Tyler. "Got any threes?"

Tyler scowled. Levue had one card left. Tyler had a two, and a three left. Why couldn't he have asked for a two?

Handing the card over, Tyler shook his head.

Levue returned her attention to Donovan. "I'm annoyed, because I've got an officer down planet, who could be in serious danger, and we'd neither be able to easily assist them, nor know about it, for, plausibly, days. I'm annoyed because we've got a security risk-"

"Potential Security risk. Keep the threats down to an 'alleged' level." Tyler interjected.

"-Stuff it, you British sod, we've got a security risk, who the Captain wants 'monitored' with a comm-badge, like we've not seen anyone fool those before. And I'm annoyed because, while trying to follow security-based regulations, which require specific things of potential security-"

"That's better." Tyler interjected again.

"-risks, and I'm being overridden, and berated, for doing my bloody job. You'd be pissed, too, Ms. Donovan." Levue said, with a scowl, at Tyler.

Elizabeth sat in her office, pouring over the results of the various scans and analysis of the plants they found. They were odd little things. Hearty, resistant to disease and parasitic in nature. They grew like weeds, choking out any other plant life and leaching out the nutrients of the soil. They weren't poisonous, which was good, but they had a unique defense mechanism to keep bugs away. It also prevented scans and communications from working properly. Evolution at its finest -- and most insidious. No wonder the world was practically barren.

For a brief moment she considered trying to cross-breed the plant on the Calypso to see if she could make it useful to humans. But, recalling how the plant had taken over not only the surface of the planet but the ocean floor as well make her reconsider.

She compiled the data and wrote up a report and sent it off to her superiors. With a sigh she sat back and stretched. Time for a walk around the arboretum.

Donovan raised an eyebrow. "I was close."

"Shut up, shuffle, and deal." Levue snapped.

"Yes, ma'am." Donovan said, shaking her head.
