Mission: The Devils Snare
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: Current

[Sickbay]

Nurse Tarango was putting stuff away when she looked up see a nurse approaching her. "You must be Yvette Jaynes," she put a hand out, waiting for her to shake it.

"Yes, ma'am. You must be Barbara Tarango," she took her hand.

"You don't have to be serious when the boss is in. I'm just a laid back type of person. This sure is a nice ship..."

With a smile, "Oh. Well, have you seen the EMH? I heard that he looks sexy."

"What?" Why is she so interested in the hologram?

"I heard rumors. Hey, we ought to test it out to get a good look at him," Yvette winked at her.

Barbara looked around the empty sickbay and whispered, "Where is Doctor Bowen?"

"She is on the bridge...we don't have another doctor in here and we should try the EMH out to see what he looks like."

Finishing up sorting some stuff out, Barbara looked at her with a frown, "I sure hope I don't get caught..."

"No," Yvette waved a hand in the air, "if the doctor came in here, we can tell her that we are testing it out. Oh, come on, Tarango."

"Okay. Computer, activate the Emergency Medical Hologram."

The good looking man appeared with full black hair, brown eyes and looks to be in his 30's. "Please state the nature of the medical emergency," he said.

They both swallowed.

"Ain't he cute?" Yvette asked.

The man looked at the one that spoked, "What seems to be the problem? Define cute."

Barbara walked around him, "He sure is cute and very functional."

Yvette laughed.

"Would you ladies tell me where the emergency is?" He picked up a tricorder from a nearby table and starts scanning them. "Looks like there is no emergency. You two are healthy."

Barbara, "that's good to know. I think we better turn him off, Yvette. I don't want to get in trouble for this as I'm the highest ranking person here."

"If he was real, I would take him on a date," she looked over at him walking around sickbay as if he is bored. "He needs a name besides EMH."

Barbara rolled her eyes, "too bad. He's only a hologram with no name.

"Define date..."

Yvette laughed, "to go out with someone. A man and a woman go out on a date."

"I think we better turn him off...it can drain the ship's power if it stays on very long," Barbara said as stares at the hologram. "Besides, he can't leave sickbay to go on a date with you," she joked.

"Why do you wish to date me?" He asked with a frown.

"Nevermind...this guy doesn't have a large knowledge," Yvette said.

"I bet he does in medicine. EMH, define erythropoietin," Barbara said as she crossed her arms.

Very quickly, "A kidney hormone that tends to increase the number of red blood cells and cut down the need for blood transfusions in cases of chronic anemia. We establish the situation by giving the patient Corthosien to block the inhibitor to stop the hormone."

"Wow."

They nearly jumped when they heard the sickbay doors opened. They let out a sigh when it wasn't their boss. A young man had burns on his hands as he walked towards them.

Barbara went to him, "What happened?"

"A circuit in Engineering blew. So, I..."

The EMH stepped right in with the tricorder, scanning the patient who got on the biobed. "Second degree burns in seventy percent of your hands. Please lay back while I work on your wounds. Nurse, hand me the dermal regenerator."

Yvette was shocked because she has never seen an EMH do the work before. She picked up the instrument and handed it to him. She was mesmerized by his action.

It didn't take long to heal the man's skin when the EMH completed the work. He stepped back, "Ensign, your hands have healed nicely. You are free to go."

The young kid jumped off the biobed, clinching his hands to check it out, "thanks, man!" He quickly walked out of sickbay.

Barbara shooked her head, "I think I like this EMH. He will be useful to our ship."

"I think so too...that is one hell of a doctor!" Yvette said. "Computer, end the EMH."

The man disappeared.

"I think we better get back to work..." Nurse Tarango said as she picked up more equipment, checking for any malfunctions.
