Morgana looked very pleased with herself and her sources. She found a petty officer who worked the night shift on Typhon. More specifically, who logged flight plans for the operations department.
Conveniently, he was working when the calypso left.
Morgan knocked and stepped into the captain's office. "I think you should come to the brig. I have a ... visitor you'll want to meet."
Thayne sat behind his desk and slowly stood up. He crossed his arms over his chest and walked over to her. Kirk, the monkey, jump from his perched position and onto Thayne's shoulders. "Whenever you smile like that you remind me of your mother." He said softly as he walked out of his office and was greeted with head nods.
He made his way with her to the brig, his hands behind his back the entire way. As they walked in, he saw two of his crewmen taking advantage of the petty officer. The officers hands was tied behind his back and he looked pretty roughed up. "Gentlemen! That is not how we treat out guest!" He gave a firm and hearty yell as both men stopped. "Lady Frey! Reprimand these two crewman."
Morgana unlocked a storage bin in the wall and pulled out a cat-o-nine-tails. She fingered for a moment and smiled at the men. Then she put it back. "Next time," she promised. "But you do need a reminder that only the Captain interrogates prisoners." She pulled out her side arm and shot both men. "They'll recover," she assured the prisoner. "This time." She signaled to two more guards to take the men to see the ship's doctor. Now that she'd shown both the crew and the prisoner that it didn't pay to disobey the Captain, she put her gun in its holster and leaned against the wall.
"Hello, Petty Officer." He said softly as he put on a smile and walked closer to the officer. "My name is Captain Kilgore. If you haven't heard of me, that's fine because I haven't heard of you either." Thayne said as he pulled out his Klingon Disruptor and placed it against the officers chest. "This can end one of two ways, Petty Officer. Either you tell me where the USS Calypso was headed or you die." He laughed softly, a bit of an evil smile. "There is no need to trick us. I was in Starfleet. I know your position works with transfers and destinations to and fro on board the Typhon."
"But if I tell you, then I'll have their lives on my conscience. That doesn't give me much incentive to tell you." He tried to sound brave, but he was scared and didn't want to die.
"Your right. Not much incentive is there?" He laughed as he looked over to Morgana. Thayne aimed the disruptor at the Petty Officers knee, eyes still focused on Morgana, and then shot him. In the middle of the screams of pain he leaned into the Petty Officer's face and looked at him right into his eyes. "Is that enough incentive for you now, Starfleet!"
The pain in his knee was excruciating. But still he couldn't betray an entire ship full of people. "No. I can't let you kill them."
"Make this easier on yourself, Starfleet!" He yelled as he backhanded the Petty Officer and then brought his hand down to his wound. He gripped it, firm and strong. The initial pain was enough for the Petty Officer to scream louder. Thayne's hand was covered in blood as he removed his grip and then grabbed onto the mans face, smearing his own blood onto his cheeks. "Your dealing with men who wouldn't hesitate to turn you into ashes, Friend! You would die for people you don't even know? People that would probably let you burn if it meant withholding their values and image." He spoke in a sarcastic voice as he looked away at the others around them. "We are Pirates! What is our rule?!" He screamed.
"Take what you want and give nothing back!" They all yelled back and laughed
"You see, Starfleet?!! Freedom is at your doorstep and your worried about getting into trouble?" Thayne yelled as he looked back at the Petty Officer. "You want Latinum? Jewels? Gold? We have plenty of these things and you can walk away with more then enough to make you forget your pain and troubles." He said softly as he leaned in and whispered. "What can Starfleet offer you? Nothing but a "Thanks for serving" and "Sorry about your leg, Friend". Just tell us what we want and walk... well... limp your way back. Alive and well paid. We're not all bad." He said as he straightened up and smiled, pleasantly.
He wasn't even trying to hide the fact that he was crying. "I can't let you follow them to Tangor," he whimpered.
Morgana looked at her father and smiled. The fool didn't even realize he'd given them the information they wanted. She casually walked over to a console and entered the name Tangor. A system in a mostly-uncharted sector of space. Five planets. How hard would it be to find an m-class planet and the Calypso? Like shooting fish in a barrel. She laughed softly and nodded to the Captain. Now it was getting fun.
Thayne nodded and then took a side step. He tucked his disruptor into his pants and looked over to the Ferengi Quartermaster. "Mister Gibbs! Give this man some latinum and make sure he gets back to the Typhon. Any man who harms him will be punished by me! Understood!" The rest of the crew nodded.
At first, the Petty Officer was in a flat panic. What had he done? He'd given away the location of the Calypso. He had to get off this ship and warn someone.
He took the latinum with a nod of thanks intent on getting out as quickly as he could.
As the Petty Officer got up he watched him with a smile. The Ferengi grabbed the Officer and began to lead him to the door. As his back was turned a devilish smile appeared over Thaynes face. He looked over to Morgana who knew exactly what he was thinking. He removed his disruptor and shot the Petty Officer at close range. The blast was strong enough to burn his uniform and put a bloody hole in his back and send him flying forward onto the ground. There was a slight moment of silence as the Captain looked around. He shrugged and then tucked his disruptor back into his pants. He slapped his own wrist and then smiled. "Bad Captain. Very Bad." The rest of the crew laughed as he sarcasticly scolded himself. "To Tangor! Set a course!"
As everyone walked away and two men dragged the Petty Officers body off, Thayne stopped as he stood in front of Morgana. "Well... I am not going to shoot myself, now am I?" He smiled and then sighed. "Get someone to clean this up and meet me in my quarters for dinner. We must celebrate. Maintain Stealth and anyone who causes the Calypso to see us will answer to me." He walked off and out of the room.
