"They're gonna hit. Tray a tractor be-" It was too late. The impact had caused both areas of impact to shatter, leaving a hole in both objects.

Daniels scowled. "Look man, I've got one tactical console, a singular tractor emitter, and a tactical targeting system that is so confused with all the misplaced technology, I can't target any one specific item fast enough for it. If you want a tractor beam on something, I need a 30 second warning, to get a proper lock."

Serena changed her mind to what was happening in the now. She looked over the console and stated, "Second that statement sir." As soon as she said that an alarm went off. Serena quickly looked over to what it was and she replied, "Sir. I can't...."

Once again the shuttle changed course abruptly, throwing everyone off balance.

Serena was thrust up against the console, shaking off from the blow she looked over the systems quickly. "Sir I've lost all control of the shuttle," she stated as she tried several maneuvers to gain control of the shuttle.

The sudden course change would cause Ronnie to fall slightly forward. Damion threw his arms out, wrapping them around her waist, and then pulled her back. She would land on his lap as the shuttle shook. "As comfortable as I am, Lancaster. I suggest you run off to your console and let us know what's going on." He said as he let her go, also a bit saddened by the fact he had to let her go.

"Thanks for the save, Wolfe," she said, kissing him impertinently on the cheek. She sauntered back to her console and looked at the data. "It seems the sudden change in temperature compromised the steel and the ship ... shattered." She set about collecting data to analyze later. "I've heard of the integrity of metal reacting in such a fashion, but I've never seen it first hand."

Damion smiled for a second at the kiss and then watched her. Suddenly he turned back around and began to work at his own console. "That's all well and good. I am very happy for you that you got to experience such an amazing event, but how about telling us what the heck happened to us just now? Was it due to what happened to the ship or was it just pilot error?" He said as his gaze shifted to Serena.

Daniels glowered at Damion, daring him to come out, and say it. Sadly, this interaction was not noticed by anyone.

"Cheap metal doesn't handle extreme temperature changes. One of the theories for the Titanic sinking is that the metal bolts were made from inferior metal. When they hit the sub-zero water, the metal was compromised -- it was made weak. So, it was easier for the hull integrity to fail. In this case, the metal was more like glass than metal. It was a tragedy of events," she said. "Scientifically, it was fascinating. But it's still a tragedy." She finished her scans ad turned to the others. "I've got as much data as I can get for now. If we're done here, let's head back to the ship."

"That's very interesting." Damion looked over to her, as there eyes would meet she could tell he really wasn't all that interested in all that information. His face was stern and emotionless. "Yes, Lieutenant Jones. Home would be nice about now. Can we try that please? After all the shaking stops?" Damion looked over to Serena and Daniels.

Ronnie didn't miss the lack of expression in Damion's eyes. "Hey, if you're so interested, I'll be happy to show you a demonstration on the holodeck. I have a program of the Titanic. It's actually quite fascinating." Her grin was just a little wicked at she tried to look angelic as she smiled at Damion.

He looked back to Ronnie and them took a slight moment to respond. "Interesting. Maybe you and I can have our dinner date there." Damion smiled back as he winked and then laughed. "Just make sure we get off before the sub-zero water thing happens, Okay?"

"That's half the fun," she teased. "But I'll restrain myself. Does tonight work for you Wolfe?"

"Lieutenant Wolfe." Daniels said, with a scowl. "I remind you that Lieutenant Jones is currently piloting the vessel. Insults, or creative critiquing of her piloting skills are not going to help us get back. Kindly keep your opinions of how other people perform their duties to written reports, please." His knuckles were white. He was trying hard not to say anything that would incite a response that would cause his knuckles to impale Lieutenant Wolfe's forehead.

Ronnie gave Damion a sympathetic look. "How 'bout we head back now?" She was eager to get back to the lab and upload the information into the science database.

"Lieutenant Jones, take us home."
