[USS Calypso - Lounge]
James and Sakura exited the lift and made their way down to the lounge. It was night time on the ship so most of the crew was either sleeping or they were on the shift. The lounge was pretty much empty and quiet. The two of them headed for the replicator.
James looked at her. "You go first." He was hungry but he didn't know exactly what he wanted to eat. He could either go for something that would be considered breakfast food. Or he could choose to have dinner. He wanted to see what she was going to get maybe that would help him.
Sakura looked at him and nodded. "Alright..." She stepped up to the replicator. "Computer, three slices of French toast powered with sugar and maple syrup. A glass of cold orange juice." She watched as her food appeared and then grabbed it.
"Oh, that looks good." James said as he watched Sakura walk past him and head for a table. "Computer, I will have three slices of French Toast as well. Powered with sugar and maple syrup." The computer complied with the order. The French toast appeared. James looked at it and then realized he forgot the drink. He grabbed his plate. "And one cold orange juice." After that appeared James grabbed it and headed for the table with Sakura.
She looked at what he got and smiled. "Copy cat." She said as she brought the glass of orange juice and took a sip of it.
James laughed as he grabbed a seat across from her. "Well, I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted but when I saw you get some French toast I just could resist. You know." He grabbed his fork and decided to dig in.
"I understand. It's early enough to have breakfast." She laughed watching him eat. It was like he hadn't had anything to eat in days. Before she knew it he had put away his first slice of French toast and was working on his second. She grabbed her fork and took a piece of it.
"I don't think three slices is going to be enough." James said as he was almost done with his second one.
"You know, I was just thinking that." She laughed.
The two of them stayed quiet for the rest of the time. She even watched James walk to the replicator and get his seconds. As she was finishing her first three slices James had finished his second three and was sitting back relaxing in the chair. She laughed as she looked at him. "You full now...?"
James nodded. "Oh, you have no idea. I feel like I'm going to explode."
"Well, as long as you warn me before you do. I don't think I want that all over me." Sakura winked at him. She grabbed his plate and then hers and walked to the replicator. She put the plates away and took her seat again across from him.
"Thank you." James said as she sat back down in her seat.
"You are welcome." Sakura said with a friendly smile. "So, I take it you and Morgan know each other."
"It is that obvious?" James asked.
She nodded gently. "Just a little bit...at sometimes you two seem to interact like you are brother and sister. You must have known each other for a long time to develop that kind of friendship."
"Well, we have known each other for some time now. This isn't our first time serving together. We met when she was at the Academy. I was there for some training. I was actually interested in one of her friends so that's how we met." James explained.
Sakura nodded. "I envy you two. I don't have anyone like that here on the ship."
"That's why you have to make friends. You can't be afraid to put yourself out there and meet people. There are all kinds of different people in Starfleet, so there is plenty of opportunity to make friends."
"Yeah....but when you are knew on your first assignment everyone seems to look down at you..." Sakura sighed lightly.
"We were all there at one point in time. At first it can be rather scary when you first when on the ship but the more you stay there and the more you work with people the better it gets. Trust me." James smiled at her.
"I guess...." She sighed before taking a sip of her orange juice.
"Don't worry; you will see I am right. Plus, we are friends." James said.
"I guess you are right about that." She smiled at him. "Thank you. I better go get some sleep."
"No need to thank me" James said with a smile. He watched as Sakura got up from her seat and walked around the table. She wished him good night and then in a surprising move leaned down placing a kiss on his cheek and left.
James brought his hand up gently touching where she kissed him and smiled. "Oh man..."
