"We need one to study. Preferably alive," Suzette replied, poling her head out from behind a wall. "And, just because you get all the ones you can see, it doesn't mean you got them all."

As she spoke, the lights in the lounge flickered and went out.

[NEW]

"I told you," Suzette hissed in frustration. "You can't shoot what you can't see."

Lorne, and his security forces, snapped a flashlight out, and Lorne grabbed a combat-tricorder off his belt. "Be prepared, is a handy motto. You can study the frigging corpses, my job is to make sure this lounge is secured, not to capture lab rats for you." He growled. "Someone bring down some portable lanterns, so we can light this place up. And get another few security teams moving on the immediate area. Equip them with night-vision goggles, just in case." He added, directing the last part of his statement to one of his security officers.

Ted was beside himself with misery. He had just wanted to tend bar...maybe see a few sights...and now this happens. What next?

Suzette shook her head, which looked slightly odd as her neck twisted and her head seemed to disappear as she did so. Instead of arguing with the Lieutenant, Suzette slipped around a corner and tapped her combadge. "de Fresa to Adeyemon, we have some rodents chewing on cables in the lounge and they appear to have cut power."

A large dog came bounding in. Riven had a large dog called a boxer and he liked to chase small animals. He ran around and around, trying to chase the small rodents, sounding his pursuit with deep, booming barks.

"Who the hell let the mutt in here? Guys, set your phasers to max/stun. I don't want to kill someone's family pet!" Lorne yelled.

"Don't shoot the dog!" a voice yelled.

"I'll try." Lorne muttered.

A young Bajoran came running in. "Roni, no! Sit! Bad dog!" The boxer gave no indication that he had even heard Riven, but continued to chase the little hairless creatures with gusto, spraying the lounge with slobber as he gave great booming barks.

Ted was furious. "Riven! You're going to clean up every single speck of slobber I see!"

"Get the damn mutt, and the slobbering kid out of here. Williams, Jacobs, restrain them." Lorne instructed.

Sheridan tapped his com badge...

"This is the bridge, Requesting a situation report down there."

"Most of the things are dead, and now we're also trying to corral a mutt, and some slobbering kid. Can I get back to you, Bridge?" Lorne muttered.

The dog terrified Suzette. Dogs were unpredictable, irrational and their tails could be lethal. When the fighting stopped, she slowly made her way around the room, hugging the wall to keep from being knocked down by someone or something.

Lorne stopped, noting the two dimensional woman. His eyebrow rose. "Are you... alright... miss?" Lorne asked.

One of the ensigns pegged off the last vole. "That's the last of them chief, lounge secure."

Suzette froze for a moment before looking up, her expression much like a deer in the headlights. "I'm... fine. The dog... I have to get out of here." She looked out of the corner of her eye and continued to inch along the wall towards the door. She reached a corner and bent in a strange rippling motion as she continued to stay flat against the wall.

Lorne watched her, intrigued. He stepped towards her, confused, as he watched her crawl the corner. He was utterly, and completely fascinated.

"Uh... Chief?" An Ensign asked. No reply was given.

Several of the security ensigns shrugged, and started throwing the either diseased, or unconscious creatures onto an anti-grav that another Security Ensign brought in for this express purpose.

One of the other ensigns managed to get a leash on the dog, and shook his head.

Suzette felt her whole body turn red. She was never noticed -- unless it was to mock her. She glanced nervously at the man, then, noticing that the dog was now on a leash, hurried sideways to the door. As it slid open, she folded around it and disappeared down the corridor.
