Mission:
Eye of the Storm
Location: Far Side of the Moon
[PREVIOUSLY]
Peter grinned and took the lead.
"Remember, we're not trying to get ourselves killed," Kara said, hoping that putting him in the lead wasn't a bad idea.

They saw nothing as the team made their way to the door they'd entered before. However, when they got there, the door was locked.
"I can take care of that," Peter said, pulling up his rifle.
"Negative. We're trying to be stealthy, remember?" Kara cautioned.
"But we're blowing it up," Peter countered.
"We have to get in first. Taking is over is objective #1. Destroying it is a last resort." Kara turned to the scientist and intel officer. "Either one of you know how to get in?"
"I can try," Jayna said. She glanced at Torek. "Unless you want to try first?"
Jemner stayed in the back of the group; it was a fast deployment and he had the least amount to do in Medical. There needed to be a field medic and being a very good nurse Jemner had volunteered to come along on a raid.
The one advantage he had is his quiet nature and perhaps lack of vocal cords will mean he is not the one to give away a position. Being more of a pacifist he did like to do harm so he found himself content being in the rear with those who guard the 'Flank.'
Wordlessly he has the field kit ready and a type one phaser in hand; with no intensions to use it unless it was to save a life and then only heavy stun since he could not bring himself to do more than that.
Jayna pulled out a small data rod and her tricorder and went to work on the door. It only took a minute for her to open it. "Looks like they were expecting us to come back. I need to get to a computer in case there's a backup alarm." She slipped inside and headed for the nearest console.
Kara sighed and followed her. "Come on. We might as well clear this level while we're at it."
Parhtz just grinned.
Jayna heard them talking, but she was more intent on getting to the console and shutting down any other warning devices or traps. She paused outside a door and scanned it for a moment, then began to get through that door, too. "They're definitely intent on keeping us out."
"We could use explosives," Parhtz suggested.
"I don't want to alert the entire facility that we're here," Jayna countered. "I'd like to disable the alarms and sneak in."
"So would I," Kara said, coming up behind them. "Peter, guard our flank."
"But..."
"That's an order. If you see enemy combatants, ask them to surrender before you shoot them."
He frowned, but followed her orders.
Aenar trotted dutifully behind, phaser in one hand pointed to the floor. He was mindful not to get too much in the way of the Marines until he was needed. Shifting his shoulder, he was sure the packs they gave out to personnel got heavier by the mission.
Jayna checked the console, she could turn off the alarms on this level, but she couldn't access anything else. Even with her spiders, she was unable to get in. "We'll have to go to a lower level. This computer only has information for this level. It didn't before, so they've definitely put more security measures in place."
She looked around, then checked two other rooms. All were the same.
Sighing, Aenar looked about the room and noted the Marine's point. The room seemed more fully locked down than they had previously experience. Deeper was the only answer, though he shuddered to think about coming into close contact with a Reman again, 'we should get going then,' he said.
Both Kara and Jayna grinned. "Yes, sir," they said, almost in unison. Then they looked at each other and laughed.
"I'll take point while Parhtz takes the rear. Jayna, once we make sure the corridor is safe, I'll let you check the door for traps."
Jayna nodded. There was a roleplaying game several cadets played where they talked about creative ways to check doors. She couldn't remember what it was, but it didn't matter. She nodded and took up a position after Kara so she'd be able to pick the lock, if necessary.
Groaning internally, Aenar nodded, and got to work on the first door. He ran his tricorder methodically around it, noting any small micro-deviations in its material, or any tell-tale radiation emissions. Grunting in surprise, he said, 'this one's clear.'
Jayna raised an eyebrow. She was going to check it herself when Kara stepped forward.
"I've got this." Kara opened the door, then shook her head. "Nothing. Let's move on to the next one."
Nodding, Aenar raced to the next one, and went through the same process. 'Booby trapped,' he announced after a moment, 'fairly obviously actually,' he said with a raised eyebrow. 'Primitive explosive device, shouldn't take you long to defuse.' A thought struck him, 'I'll scan for something less obvious while you go.'
"Thanks," Jayna said. "If it's that obvious, there will likely be something hidden." She wondered why they'd done something so obvious when there were better ways to stop a door from being opened.
While the science officer scanned, Jayna examined the lock to see if she could take care of it without triggering anything.
Sticking out his tongue in concentration, Aenar made sure not to get in the Marine's way as he scanned across the doorframe. The tricorder picked up subtle signs near the floor. He sighed as he read them, 'looks like the door is primed to go either way - look here. A small amount of tricobalt. Might seal the door shut if we trigger the device.'
"That all depends on the trigger," Jayna said. "I can deactivate the trap and unlock the door. But I need to know if any tampering will set it off or if a failed attempt will." She looked at the door. "Give me a few minutes and I'll figure it out."
"In that case, I think we should move farther down the corridor," Kara said.
"Probably a good idea,” Jayna replied.
