Samantha reviewed the scans of the planet while she waited for a report from Munich about the status of the away team. She was also waiting for a report from a scientist who surveyed the area a few years earlier. When the scientist's report came, she turned to the others on the bridge. "Keep scanning. We have a lot of questions that need answers. Just be discrete about it." Then she went into her ready room to review the report. She hoped there was some detail that had been overlooked, something that would help them figure out the mystery behind the message.
She was there an hour later, still going over the report, when she got a communication from Munich.
Munich and the Security man had gotten to a small alcove in an alley; he had an ear piece in and small enough not to be noticed as well as a necklace that held the transmitter microphone. With the Security watching for intrusion Munich chanced a communication to the Commanding Officer as this away team was going south really fast.
=^= Munich to York. =^= Munich was keeping his voice down. =^= Do you receive?=^=
"Yes." Sam could tell by the tone of his voice that something was wrong. She hoped it was a minor glitch.
=^= The Away team is split up and I have lost Lei and Ronnie visually and they are not answering comms. In dis city space I am not making headvay. I should need focused scan ov area. =^=
Sam's mind raced through possibilities and possible solutions, but there was too little information to really know for sure what happened, or what to do. "We'll do a scan of the area and see if we can pick them up from the Calypso. I'll report back in fifteen minutes."
=^= Confirmed, fifteen minutes, Munich Out.=^= He did not want to chance detection, it was best to keep it short.
Munich tapped the shoulder of the Security Person and motioned to follow Munich a little further and start a small but discreet search while they wait scans from the ship.
Sam went back to the bridge, and ordered a scan based on Lei and Ronnie's bio-signatures. After three passes, there was no sign of them. She tapped her combadge. "York to Wolfe. Meet me in my ready room as soon as possible." She again turned the bridge over to a junior officer and headed back to her ready room to meet Damion.
=^=This is Wolfe. On my way.=^= Wolfe replied from the Security Office before tapping his combadge and walking out. It took him a while to get to the bridge and to eventually walk off the turbolift, a slight hint of concern, before stepping into the Ready Room.
"I won't beat around the bush," Sam said when Wolfe entered. "Two members of the away team are missing. One of them is Ronnie."
"What?" Damion replied quickly before shouting "How the hell did this happen?"
"I don't know. They got separated from the group and there's no sign of them. We've scanned several times with no luck. Munich and his team are searching the city without calling attention to themselves. I thought you'd like to be here when I talk to Hans again."
"I'd like to do more then just talk." Damion replied quickly.
When the fifteen minutes was up, she tapped her combadge. "York to Munich."
Munich was off the main thoroughfare, he happened to be looking at a stand with goods when the tone in the small ear piece chimed. Taking a casual shake of the head as though nothing interested him he moved aside to a small alcove near by and leaned as though take a breather to help conceal his actions.
=^= Munich Here, hav you anything goot for me? =^= Munich acknowledged.
"I'm afraid not," Sam said. "We've scanned the area and there's no sign of Shan or Lancaster. Have you learned anything?"
=^= No. =^=
"Okay. Keep looking and report back in two hours. York out."
"Can we backtrack the transporter lock to when to when it lost them?" Damion said firmly, crossing his arms, before adding. "If we can trace the lock, up until they vanished, we can come up with a kind of trail to follow."
Sam checked. "No. There was some sort of interference. I can see where the signal began to get choppy, but then it faded out in the middle of the town. There's no telling where they are now." She shook her head. "I'll send the information to Munich, but from the looks of things, their signals had trouble in the same place, so it won't be much help."
"It's somewhere to start. at least." Damion replied
Sam paced her Ready Room. "We'll find them. One way or another, we'll find them."
"I know we will." Damion said. "I don't plan on going anywhere until we do."
"Neither do I."
