The knife pierced Logan's side, but he showed no reaction. He didn't flinch from any form of pain. His mind was too far gone, and the adrenaline was far to great, for him to feel anything at that point. With a dark, and evil, laugh escaping his lips Logan eased forward and whispered. "How many of your victims begged you, pleaded with you, all for their plea's to do unanswered? You don't deserve mercy. You don't deserve pity. You don't deserve LIFE!. Death is your only gift, and so, let me give you what you so freely gave others." Logan eased closed, an evil grin formed on his face, as he whispered. "Enjoy the ride down." He than held the Assassin over and released him. As the man feel, Logan turned and walked away, enjoying the sound he made on the way down.

[LATER, DOWN RIVER]
Kali struggled to grab a breath as the current kept pulling her under. Slowly she navigated her way towards the shore, but the current was too fast to make it a simple task. Especially when she reached a deep, narrow stretch of the river. With each failed attempt to move to the shore, she felt her strengh ebb.
Suddenly she felt the familiar grip of someone taking hold of her and pushing her toward the surface of the water. As Kali's head would break through the water and allow her to catch that most needed breath of air, she heard a familiar voice whisper in her ear. "I got you, Princess and I wont let you go this time."
Orvack gripped onto her tightly and began to swim to the opposite end of the rushing water, toward the other side of the bank. He managed to keep Kali's head above water, using all his strength to push through the current to make it to the other side.
"Orvack?" Hadn't he told her to leave? That he wouldn't be around if she tried to go back? What was he doing here? Or was she hallucinating? Probably. But just in case, she clung onto him, letting him guide her to the shore.
When they reached an eddy and were finally back on solid ground, Kali fell to the ground, unconscious.
Orvack ran his hand through her hair and raised her up slightly. He did his best to treat her wounds with what he had.
After several minutes, Kali's eyes opened. "Thank you," she said quietly. "Why did you come back?"
"I was wrong to let you go." Orvack replied softly. "I am sorry. It will never happen again." He turned quickly, hearing the roar coming from up the river. He turned quickly back to Kali. "Can you move?"
"I think so." She slipped easily into telepathic communication, not even noticing she had done so. The noise was feral, visceral, and it sent a shiver down her spine.
She sat up carefully and waited for her head to stop spinning. Then she nodded and slowly stood up.
Orvack helped her up and placed her arm over his shoulder to help her walk. They took a few steps forward, until Orvack turned slightly to see behind them. "Someone is approaching." He said telepathically before moving again with her.
"Released her!" A ferocious shout came from behind them.
Orvack looked to Kali before turning his head and body slightly to see who was behind them. It was Logan, bleeding from the gut, but still carrying his cold stare.
Logan let out a growl as he continued to walk slowly toward them. "I said Release her or I will do to you what I did to your friend back there."
Orvack raised a brow. He thought Orvack was an assassin. He looked over to Kali before turning to face Logan. "I am not here to harm, Kali. I have come to protect her and bring her home."
Logan continued to walk, as if unphased by the telepathic words. "I will leave your body in pieces. Your blood will coat the eat at your feet."
"He is not listening. His mind is too far gone, Kali." Orvack replied telepathically to her, doing his best to stay ahead of Logan and still hold onto her. "I will let you go and stand between you and him. You must get home, Princess. No matter what happens, you must not look back."
"No!" Her cry was both verbal and telepathic. "I will not let you do this."
She pushed away from Orvack and faced Logan. "He is my protector. He saved me from the assassin. Starfleet needs to be told. You need to tell them." She began to walk towards Logan. "If you hurt him, you will hurt me. He is not your enemy."
Logan stopped. He looked at Kali, to Orvack, than back to Kali. "Starfleet!?" He said weakly as he looked around. "I am Starfleet." Logan's gaze suddenly focused on the blade in his gut as he poison finally began to take effect. He took a grip on the blade before pulling it out, allowing the blood to come out from his wound. He looked back to Kali as his eyes began to get heavy. "Mira.... Mira Jayna." He said weakly before removing his combadge from his pocket. Logan held the blood covered combadge out to Kali before dropping it and falling to the ground.
Orvack got to his feet and ran over to Kali when he saw Logan reach into his pocket. When he reached Kali, he pulled her back just in time to see Logan remove the combadge from his hand, than drop to the floor unconscious. Orvack knelt down to Logan and pressed his hands against his neck. "His pulse is weak." He said telepathically to Kali before removing piece of his clothes and pressing it to the wound.
"No, it's all right," she assured Orvack. Then she picked up the combadge and pressed it as she had seen Starfleet do. "Hello?"
"This is the Calypso. Who is this?" the voice of Anli Targalia said from communications.
"I am Kalikana, daughter of King Mrowen. Please, one of your people has been knifed. He is badly injured. Please, help him."
There was a brief silence, then Anli's voice came again. "Beaming you directly to sickbay. Hold on."
There was an odd humming, then a shimmer of light. Kali reached for Orvack, but dematerialized before she could touch him.
